One of the most over hyped and overly accepted games of all time

When it came out, no one had ever seen the cinematic cut scenes used the way that SquareSoft did them. They were intrigrated into the actual game, helping the story flow as both a fun and intrigrated experience. The graphics were top notch and the character customization was superb in genre that generally didn't allow too terrible much.
However, the thing that kills this game is the fanfare treatment it recieves. For its time, it was a wonderful game. However, nearly ten years after its release, people still refer to it as the creme of the crop in all aspects. However, this is far from true.
The game is fun and alluring, however, the storyline is overly complex, full of holes, and ends on a very down note. This isn't a good thing, but at the same time, is one of the many charms of the game.
Do not get me wrong, I love Final Fantasy VII. What it did for its time makes it a must own for anyone that can play it. However, it isn't the God of all games as so many people make it out to be. Final Fantasy IV, VI, and IX were so much better in terms of storyline and characters.
Final Fantasy VII is a great game that suffers too much from over hype and a fan base that seems to think that no other game on earth can ever come close to it. Its a game that must be played and experienced, however falling into its hype will lead you into a powerful let down.
