Kingdom Hearts II isn't as good as its predecessor but still ranks pretty high as an action/RPG.

In KHII, you actually start the game as Roxas, a boy about Sora's age, a little older and he has many connections with Sora. I'm not going to dig deep into the storyline except that you will be playing as both Roxas and Sora in the game, but mostly Sora. The storyline is very deep and will keep you glued until you have completed the game.
Yup, KHII still has Disney characters, and plenty of new ones too. Mulan, Tron, Steamboat Willy and Pirates of the Carribean are some of the newly added characters. The combat feels even more polished, and fast paced. There are also new very helpful techniques to dodge attacks and other purposes. The boss battles are still top-notch but about the same as they were in the original. You still find their weak point and then kick the crap out of them with your keyblade. And hooray! The Gummi Ship parts are a lot better!
Camera was a big problem in the original. The right analog stick was used for selecting items, etc. but it really should've been used for the camera. Instead, the shoulder buttons were used. Kingdom Hearts 2 does use the C-Stick but there are still frustrating moments with the camera occasionally. Well, at least the camera has been improved and you won't find near as many problems with it as you did before.
The graphics, at first look pretty dated. Once you get farther in the game, they will look excellent! I don't know why they looked dated at first but a lot of the stuff, in fact most of it after you start playing as Sora looks absolutely fantastic! Take a look at Pirates of the Carribean for example, it's almost lifelike.
I'm going to say this now, I had no problem with the music whatsoever. I loved every music orchastrated, it was all perfect. This has very good music, possibly right up there with the best on Playstation 2. The voice acting has been improved....a lot. The characeters don't sound nearly as childish.
Soooo....is it worth it? $49.99? Well it is about as long as the original but you'll notice that it is quite a bit easier. If you were a fan of the original than I couldn't suggest this game more. If your a newcomer, than either buy the greatest hits original or rent the sequel. Overall, Kingdom Hearts II is better than the original.
