Check out the Guild Wars 2 panel from Comic-Con 2011.
@Destructionzz That's what it sounds like, but at the same time I don't think that means there won't be a quest, or "event" at that spot, there will just be a different one in it's place that is the result of the resolutions of the "events" before it. Which is really no different than a regular game, where you play through levels that are connected to each other by what you the player do, except in this case each "level" will be played by different players.
looks really solid. some tried and tested and new concepts going into this game that make it fairly unique. I hope it stands up at open beta so we can get to release faster.
Gamescom and PAX Prime is coming up soon! Subscribe to youtube.com/GuildWars2Live to watch all their upcoming videos from those tradeshows.
@kerc_chaos. I think you watched a different video than everyone else. The guys from arena net are some of the most passionate and hard working game devs I have met in the business. If they are misrepresented here it is only due to them being tired or something. I mean look at Colin. Hes almost over enthused. Hes losing his voice. On a side note. I cannot wait for this game. Arena Net has taken a heavy weight upon their shoulders to take the stale MMO genre in a new direction... a good direction.
Sounds awesome, my question is this though; about the dynamic events. So say someone start "the first" event somewhere, at like Lv 1, they finish that, this would mean that a new player (lv1) couldn't do this quest? cause it's already evolved and changed permanently, it doesn't reset. I don't quite grasp the concept.
the "background" music... is distracting... also, these guys don't sound all that excited about their product... still here is hoping it comes out well =)
Can't wait to party up with 5 really fat warriors and beat things in our way, it's gonna be game time 24/7 until i realize i have class in a couple of hours and then i tell myself "i'll be ok" and play some more or pass out, whichever naturally comes first.
Looooooooooking Goooooooooooood! LoL alwyas wanted to say that :P Been Playing GW1 For 6 years loved it But this one Going To change everything About MMOs
I've not been this excited for an MMO in probably a decade, every time I see one of these panels I hear something that makes me go "Wow! That sounds amazing" I am just so excited I can't wait to play it. And every time they confirm that it will be buy once then no subscription I just cannot believe it. This game is doing so many new and exciting things I can only see it being a huge success: Also Youtube video if it's not loading for you: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wyYe1JKdrdI
@Nodashi I wouldn't mind the dragon if it didn't look *exactly* like warcraft's, except with lightning instead of fire. Though it's entirely possible that I missed the myriad of other dragons with cow catchers for faces. I feel like a troll. So I'm going to wander off this way -->
i need a new pc before this game comes out , i dont like having to sacrifice graphics for faster game and with the art level of this game i would not want to miss out on taking full advantage of the visuals , also the score of music for the game sounds absolutely amazing !
I was also hoping to see more gameplay stuff and new features and maybe some new skills in action, hope they r uploading those as I type XD.
Both WoW and GW2 are TOTALLY different in terms of combat, events, exploration, scale, story and etc. ... and exactly BECOUSE of that you have no rights to compare those games. As a MMO fan I enjoyed WoW for years ... but I enjoyed GW 1 more than that ... and with GW2 coming out ... WoW subscription canceled ! GW universe just won me over by miles way ...
Not going to kill WoW, but I would bet on it being the most successful MMO since WoW ..and possibly wtfpwn TOR :D
@DVeight8 Nothing is going to kill WoW. It might steal some subscribers, even though that's not really correct considered GW2 has no subscription. WoW is too well established to be "killed". GW2 isn't going to do it, neither is SWTOR. Not even combined. Remember a successful MMO doesn't really need more 200 thousand to be stable and I don't see anything stealing more than 11 million subscribers from WoW. Nevertheless I embarrassingly hyped about this game. I've been trying hard to view it critically, but they have won me over.
gw was my first MMO loved it ...i never played WoW because of GW :)) i could not stand the graphics of WoW AFTER I saw gw ;)
so cool cant wait should be very good game, as for making money it will be like GW1 people are still buying it now and with costumes and slots to buy i don't think they will have a prob with making the old green stuff plus the game will fly off the shelve for the first month, end of 2012 i say for it coming out they need 6 month of open beta at least as they say its out when it ready which is how it should be.
just watched the SWtOR panel, Biowares release date for the game is 2011 holy days, seriously arenanet you have to beat that date or match it.
I feel like they are putting a lot of resources into this. what i'm wondering is how they are gonna make a profit without monthly fees. I really hope they can because they definitely deserve to be successful with this game
WoW killer. yeah I went there. 2011-2012 isn't the same MMO scene as when WAR, LotRO, and AoC tried to kill WoW. The state of WoW today is an aged and wounded corporate debacle now more than ever, and is pretty ripe for a fall. My money is on GW2 being the one to deal the death blow, even more than SWTOR.
Arenanet have really put alot of work into this game ,i really hope that it has alot of support from old fans and hope that alot of new fans / supporters emerge when the game is finally released , im sure it will be worth the wait ! Thank you NC'soft and Thank you Arenanet !
