The Guild Wars 2 dev team talks about finding the good parts of MMO games and tossing out the rest.
this game is probably a huge troll lmao; come december 23rd they'll say it was all a joke and it's actually a console action game :(
Oxtrom that would be the engineer, I read some where that the engineer is greatly influenced by the feedback they got from players after playing as the commando. PS. that battle at 05:41 looks epic !!!!
@bramterris lol i eats chutney for breakfast/lunch/dinner you must have like +200 to dodge ; p @Oxtrom seriously you hate it so much that you come back everyday to check on it ; p but alright ill stop, besides the topic has gone from difficulty/challenge... to ....chutney.... (not to diss chutney) the last refuge of a man with no argument is to make fun of grammar/spelling/namecalling ...and just to keep this on topic.... guild wars 2...
@SauhlGood Sounds like someone doesn't like being pushed aside like last nights chutney .
Hey no more mister nice guy.im tired of earing you guys argue with each other. If you want to argue, argue about the game.now stop typing things that doesn t have to do with the game!!!!!!!!!!!!
@bramterris nice dodge on the issue of my name and competition "I never really cared for it to begin with" ... and proven nothing while doing it "I dont think they said dungeons were easy" ease is relative thats the point! "So, Congrats on the fails, and good luck trying to argue again." your juvenile... there is no wrong/right at this junction in the argument, just different preference.
Guys come on dont get angry with each other. Be friends because we all have something in comon we all like guild wars 2 :) so be friends.
@SauhlGood Still don't think you realize that I'm not talking about the game and its difficulty. Talken about er comment and er pic/name. You're trying to explain you're reasoning, but I never really cared for it to begin with. Also, I don't think they said the dungeons were easy, they just said when you beat it, you get the item that you want. So, Congrats on the fails, and good luck trying to argue again.
i know i want to a higher dregree of difficulty in games. Thats why i want to play this game because it will be very difficult :)
@bramterris ...you say punished.... i say handout/spoonfeed not everybody likes easy games, just like not everybody likes vanilla ice-cream...just conceed to that once again what does superman/good have to do with difficulty/ease of competition in sport/video games. im only asking for higher degree of difficulty in video games, you make it sound like im for the slaughter of innocent people...
By the way, the game looks really awesome and i'm really eager to know the release date! But on the other hand, i really dont want them to rush things, and ruin what could be the best MMORPG of this generation.
I agree with bramterris, Superman is supposed to stand for good. But guys, come on, you should be comenting about what's going on in the video, not dissing each other's avatar.
@SauhlGood I thought the hypocrisy of you're comment was obvious. Superman stands for good, and yet you're telling people that they need to be punished before they can learn stuff. Don't think superman does that. Don't remember him being like, I am going to let you burn for a bit before I save you because you need to be taught a lesson.
@bramterris im not mad, but you still failed to explain how what i said is hypocritical, and what it has to do with my name. congrats on another dodge
@SauhlGood U mad bro? Was just making an observation. And er comment to me had nothing to do with what i said lol. Congrats on another fail. .
@bramterris there are other people out there, you bleeding-heart hypocrites.... people who like a bit of challenge in their games/sports/life, people who dont want things handed to them, who actually enjoy *gasp* omg *gasp* ENJOY competition. you can be good, and still like competition so wtf does my name have to do with it... bunch of whiners, step out of your comfort zone once in awhile... and growth might happen. wow this really sounds deuche, but oh well, i tried to put it in a nice way... point is not everybody wants what YOU want ..reader... if u take offense to it.. tuff break @leepialong wtf you talkin about this is about a little bit of difficulty in a game, some challenge... theres a trend of dumbing games down, and simplifying them, any lose comparative to life in my last statement is topical...where the hell did you get bureaucracy from. not all of us like playing easy-mode or even, vanilla-normal...get over it
@SauhlGood Seems kind of hypocritical considering your name has good in it and your using a superman picture. Nice fail.
tbh I hanen't been paying much attention to this, Guild Wars never excited me, so wasn't bothered about the sequel but this is looking good. I'm intrested now though, they seem to be taking it in a new direction away from the Everquest idea that's getting rather stale these days. Actually was Everquest the first to use the standard MMO model?
That Rayman commercial is so funny. Cartoons slapping each other never gets old. ummm anyway This game could spark a new trend in online games for years to come. It seems they are really focusing on making an innovative, genuinely fun gaming experience, not just putting a new coat of paint on the same old gameplay formula that MMO developers have been beating to death for the last decade. Along those lines, I was really excited about the Secret World and Old Republic. Those games looked really fresh until I saw gameplay trailers with tanks keeping aggro, healers healing, and dps using their ability rotations over and over again.... darn shame...
It's about time someone ditched the class specific system. I'm sick of waiting for hours to find a tank, healer, dps, etc., and when I can't find them I'm forced to quit because the quest or dungeon I need is required to progress. Also having to go through a long dungeon only to end up getting a useless item from the final boss. I like the token idea.
@warorc "Why play?" Uhh... to have fun maybe? You know, fun, as in having a good time. If you don't like the new ideas that are being implemented into the game, then do yourself a favor and don't buy it. If all the things you listed are that important to you, then continue to play MMO's that support that system - i.e. them all.
@warorc, from a long time mmo player, the holy trinity is a bs. all the pressure/responsibility goes to the tank , and healer whereas the dps doesnt do much of a role. if either tank/healer made a mistake, the whole team have to pay the price. if u play MMO game with holy trinity, u should know this. to me, u are kinda new to MMO world. the class, race, and numbers of ppl are matter. each class and each race have their own skills. the scaling system make sure keep the boss from short kill. in other words, make it more fun when more ppl show up.
@SauhlGood, if u did crappy job, u will get crappy reward. why u bringing Bureaucracy into virtual world? u know what i learn from college. there no loser or winnner because the profs dont give a rat @ss.
the art is very nicely done, some of the new concepts seem interesting, specially "sans trinity" this idea of "everybody gets rewarded, nobody is a loser" is horrible in schools and its horrible in games. its not just about winning, wether in life or games, but its rewarding, to learn from losses, not to mention VALUABLE LIFE LESSONS have to be learned and cant be taught in certain situations, this idea of side-stepping competition and difficulty is..left-wing hippy fluff cry more
Looks like a complete garbage system designed for nerds without balls (like most nerds): Levels don't matter? Classes don't matter? Races don't matter? The amount of people participating don't matter? Why play? Can we just sit back and watch the game play itself? What's the point of leveling and gearing up when it doesn't make any difference? Why have different classes or races when that seemingly makes no difference? "everyone can heal, everyone can do everything...!"
Finally a MMORPG that is daring to bring more choice and freedom to its players by willing to implement some innovative ideas...while I am pretty impatient when it comes to games I am looking forward to, I actually don't mind that the release date is still to be determined because I just want this game to be as good as it seems it would be!
AWESOME! Finally a game that will improve MMO play far away from traditional play. I'm very excited about all new changes that make MMO game more social in all aspects. This game will make new standards on what future MMORPG should be.
I love these Anet conference vids! They have the most awesome, confident, positive attitude toward their work. It's a great (and rare) feeling knowing that MMO devs aren't trying to BS and exploit us gamers.
