- Difficulty:
- Just Right
- Time Spent:
- 20 to 40 Hours
- The Bottom Line:
- "Amazing"
Ok so one note before I even mention anything else, I never played the original Guild Wars so I didn't really know what to expect when I picked this up.
Other than some performance issues I had in the beginning, which had nothing to do with the game. My entire time playing this was pure enjoyment.
The game has so much content to it that I still haven't scratched the surface of it. I would definitely say that this is the mmo to rival World of Warcraft. And what's even better is the fact that this is an amazing mmo that doesn't require you to pay x number of dollars every month to keep playing. Which if you are on a tight budget or don't feel like playing at the moment but feel like you are wasting your money if you paid for a subscription it's awesome!
Some of the cool things:
-World events - Really this is amazing! At any time while roaming through the world a random event can occur which everyone in the area can participate in. While it does get repetitive if you keep encountering the same one, you can skip doing it again. Sometimes I've thought I've seen all the events in an area and come across one I haven't which is always kind of exciting.
-Your character is always relevant to the zone. You can't be too high for a zone or area, and if you are the small player you aren't subjected to some maxed level god rushing in stealing all the kills and items in a whirlwind slaughter.
-Crafting is simple and pretty basic but it does have it's own twist where you have to put items together that match each other and you can discover new things to create. So while it's mostly like other mmos, it still is a bit different than others.
Some frustrating things:
-The trading post is kind of confusing, though once you get used to it you can usually push through and get it to cooperate with you.
-Some materials needed for crafting are scarce and hard to find and I mean basic things. Like leather workers seem to have a terrible time finding the leather they need, while a armorsmith and weaponsmith can find ore like no tomorrow. So it is a bit unbalanced.
Despite some frustrations there isn't much to complain about while playing Guild Wars 2, the game has beautiful graphics and everything works quite well except for the two things listed above.
It is quite deserving of a 9.5/10.0!

Expecting the sheer epicness, smartness and freshness that was Guild Wars I must say that GW2 let me down.
