Guild Wars 2 User Review
- Difficulty:
- Hard
- Time Spent:
- 40 to 100 Hours
- The Bottom Line:
- "Innovative"
Positive (+) / Negative (-)
+ Exploration seems to be the main focus of the game, exploring is beautiful, intriguing, and rewarding. If exploration and MMO are your alley this is the game for you.
- The game world has some inconsistencies in topography and is heavily instanced in big rectangular-shaped maps. No way of exploring with mounts or by flying.
+ No Quest Log! The map is used as you quest searching too, works great ;D. Great for casual gaming.
+ Dynamic Events, you progress on level and story by just exploring the beautiful world and while at it you encounter dynamic events that trigger when you pass by, you are rewarded depending on your participation on the event
- Story can't be progressed by only doing they related quests, it is slowed down with level requirements that require you to level up by either exploring the world, doing dynamic events or in PvP
+ No class dependencies, No Healer, No Tank
- Chaotic at first glance
+ Cross-Class Combos add to the chaotic fun
+ Fights are fast-paced and exciting; you can dodge incoming attacks and use any spell, ability or skill while moving
+ Game Mechanics, such as cross-class combos, revives and others encourage grouping and camaraderie
- No PvP Hostility in the normal open world, just in WvW
+ Soundtrack is great and triggers appropriated battle music when things get hot and action is tense
- Soundtrack is very familiar to GW veterans, it feels repetitive and boring
+ No Monthly Fee
+ A Fair amount of bonus items can be bought with real money or by using in-game currency
- Glitches and minor bugs occur, but not so frequent and are usually fixed on servers restarts which occur once per day
- No in-game voice chat
+ Worth mentioning:
• Platforming
• Underwater Combat
• 5-Man Dungeons
• WvW Siege Weaponry
• Character Personalities & Story Branching
