Guild Wars 2 is the first MMO genre game that I have ever played. Needless to say that I am no expert then in the MMO genre or community.rn
rnThe game starts by having you create your own custom character. There are 5 race's to choose from namely Charr, Sylvari, Asura , Norn & Human.rn
rnEach of these races have 8 professions to choose from namely Engineer, Elementalist, Necromancer, Thief, Warrior, Guardian, Ranger & Mesmer.rn
rnThe story depends on the race you pick. As you aim to fore full your main quest, you will complete numerous side missions and events. This adds to the length of the game.rn
rnGuild Wars 2's level cap is 80. It takes quite a while to reach it. Skill points are earned as you level up to purchase different techniques.rnrnDepending on which type of weapon your wielding, the skills will change. Weapon skills are unlocked as you progress with that type of weapon. You may have mastered the axe but when you equip a sword, you will have the basic skills till you level up with the weapon.rn
rnBesides the main quest, there are numerous sides to the game. Guild Wars 2 boasts a great multiplayer system, from partying up with friends, to conquering continents in WvW and slaying enemies in PvP. This is definitely the best part of Guild Wars 2.rn
rnWvW is a new multiplayer system, where three home servers face each other in a battle of strategy. Capturing structures scores the team points, as well as boosts to gathering, health etc . The matches are exactly one week long each.rn
rnGuild Wars 2 also has a crafting system, where players can learn two crafting discipline's. Each discipline has its own ingredients that it requires to forge items, as well as the level requirement to craft the items.rn
rnThere are eight different crafting discipline's namely Armorsmith, Artificer, Chef, Huntsman, Jeweler, Leatherworker, Weaponsmith & Tailor.rn
rnThe Black Lion Trading Post, basically its a online
merchant system. Players can buy and sell weaponry, armor, ingredients etc.Various items can be purchased and sold on it, with the money or items being collected at a Black Lion Trading Post Representative.rn
rnThe final part of the game that I will review is the guild system.Guild Wars 2 you are allowed to create a guild or join a guild at any point and time. Being in a guild will mean that you have access to certain bonus features such as the guild stash etc.rn
rnCreating your own guild is a tougher challenge. First you must decided on the name & initials. The guild is your own, you may decide who can join, as well as who is in charge, what privilege's they have etc.rn
rnTo upgrade your guild you must earn influence. Influence is earned by playing the campaign, PvP or WvW.rn
rnUpgrading your guild will yield special bonuses such as the guild stash, emblem, armor & weapons with the guild emblem engraved on it, etc.rn
rnAll in all, Guild Wars 2 is an amazing MMO with innovative features. Its a must buy for any fan of the MMO genre as well as newcomers to the genre.

I wanted to like this game so much. I have nothing against Anet. Did not play GW1 and expected a miracle from the hype

An MMO that advances the core gameplay mechanics of the genre, feels like something new and is simply a lot of fun.
