this is a compile list style review, ill do my best to state things i love and hate about the game and why you might love or hate the game, very very little hate so far.

1. From a graphics standpoint guild wars 2 simply has amazing art and visuals, nothing feels out of place, all the environments feel balanced and connecting, spells are not to flashy yet still eye catching, and the underwater side of things actually gives you a small impression of real swimming.
2. Leveling, there is no grind to be found here. despite people claiming it's hard to level and they are getting stuck grinding it is because they are jumping to conclusions and not being patient to realize there is more then enough content to level on for every level range, by simply exploring zones your level ( regardless of the zone being for your race or another [ be sure to visit other race zones ] ) there is more then enough content to level to 80 ( max cap ) in under 100 of game play with out being some hard core gamer or doing nothing but quest back to back, there is plenty of room to simply enjoy the experience and ride your way up the level system with out a lot of effort, if your into spamming through levels to reach the end-game content or just to dedicate to WvW, you can easily level to 80 in 30-80 hours of game play depending on the methods used.
3. Game Size, one important thing to me is the size of a game, how much content will be there for me, how long will it last? so far at 200+ hours into guild wars 2, i only have 43% of the map explored on my lvl 80 warrior, not only is there still 57% of the map left for me to venture to and explore, but i still have yet to take place in events and boss fights of the zones i did explore. there is simply so much available that even at a hardcore pace you could get 300+ hours of game play out of this game, and at 60$ i would say very well worth it, it cost almost 15$ to see a 2 hour long movie, so in a price to time investment guild wars 2 gives plenty of bang per buck.
and my bit of small hate
4. The Story, having played guild wars 1 for 7 years, i have to say the story was not as grasping as the first, guild wars 1 i absolutely loved the story and was emerged in it, could not wait to do the next mission and find information and pieces of the story. i feel the story of guild wars 2 lacks this, its not bad in a mmo stand point or even a single player rpg stand point, as some games i have seen and played were much worse. it how ever does not live up to that gw1 story line, even with all the voice acting it feels lacking in emotion and interest, almost like your just watching it to watch it, not feeling like your massively apart of it.
5. Community, i have been disappointed in the grade of players since the early beta test, for some reason there has been a flood of rather rude players who could care less to help a fellow player, or even take two seconds and be respectful of others opinions or thoughts. just about every opinion or view gets turned into a WoW clone argument or some type of hate/slander, not that this is new a lot of games have this, how ever for people to simply be rude and over bearing for no reason at all while your explaining things to people or helping new players is quite unnecessary. also guild wars 2 is meant to be played and enjoyed your way, despite this there are still a lot of people attempting to force "meta" builds onto players and calling you trash just because you do not want to set your skills the way they want you to, this is more common for PvP then PvE but can still occur in PvE dungeons and some Zerg groups.
6. The trade post, when it is working its handy and yet still a problem, all trade are taxed at 15% so when you have players posting items 1c above the merchant price, not only are they loosing money ( they would make 15% more selling to the merchant ) but they are preventing solid economy and trade value on a wide variety of items, and when it is not working ( down for maintenance ) or simply broken/laggy, you have no other real trade means, despite yelling in chat and hoping to trade through the mail system, or using guild vaults to trade mats/items with other guild members. this shouldn't be a long standing problem though.
thank you for your time reading and hope i have helped you in some way
