It's like if you say anything negative about the game or beta, they will make up some excuse about it.

All I said was "Why haven't they added higher graphic options? This would make sense for a beta for a game that's releasing in a month."
The response I got was "Graphics != Gameplay" which wasn't even my point.

This isn't the first time people have defended the game when I make a valid point. I have a couple friends that protect the game like it's their child.

No game is perfect, and this is pretty far from perfect for a beta of a game that's supposed to be released in a month.

Adding higher graphics options wouldn't make sense. The ones we've got are what the game is supposed to look like. High-quality textures and some post-processing stuff were originally missing, but seem to work fine in BWE3.

So yeah, your question was stupid, because adding new features to a huge game just before its release would be idiotic.

A positive attitude may not solve your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

Thanks for proving my point. Adding higher graphics options makes a lot of sense when you're testing a game. It allows developers to get a sense of how well their game will run on various hardware. To not test higher graphics options would be a mistake.

For example, you can only set textures to Medium, not High. High should also be in the beta.

High is available in the beta, as is everything else. I'm still waiting for your valid point.

On max? How do you set it to max? It doesn't provide me with these options.

Alright, try going to where it says textures, and try to change it from medium. I'm not talking about character textures.

it's because they don't want it to get better because they don't want you to play. they secretly want their lil niche game all over again and are pissed that this has become so popular. damned hipsters.

but in all seriousness this is their baby. and the poor baby has been amped up soooo much it could never live up to the hype and they don't want to be told that. these people exist everywhere, not just for this game. people defend their politicians this way or their girlfriends this way. people love something and they think that if it has flaws that means it is terrible but it doesn't mean that at all. it's just a lesson in maturity and pride and loyalty that they may or may never learn.

Yes, that enables High textures. If you look at the ground, the difference is usually quite noticeable, even though Medium textures look alright.

No, it's DX9. The version of DX doesn't matter as much as some think. For example, The Witcher 2 is one of the best-looking PC games at the moment and it uses DX9.

Apparently I can't use High textures on my 32-bit system.

Hype is a terrible thing generally because 98% of things will never meet that hype for somebody for some way or another.

Just take what you want from the game. If it isn't for you, then so be it. I agree that people shouldn't defend it to the death if there are obvious flaws but at least understand why such people respond like this.

It's not exactly unusual... this will happen to every major game.

The thing people seem to forget that this game hasn't even been released yet. This kind of talk is rife until months and months into the game.

The complainers will be gone, the loyalists will still be here, and those who simply want to play the game will play the damn game.

If an MMO developer is worth a damn, the talk that happens by players at the dawn of an MMO is very important. The players will shape the future of the game based on their feedback.

How is this situation any different from EVERY other game out there in existence?

Do you even know what the FF fans are like? If you don't like FF7 like they do, they practically hang you by your testicles. If you don't have those, they give you some to hang you with.

But no. Attack US for circlejerking to a game WE like as YOU whiners circlejerk to something else.

Because 4GB ram is not enough to allocate high res textures, pretty much like skyrim when you try to install texture mods with few ram and low graphics memory or battlefield 3, or crysis 2 with Hd texture pack, also results on missing textures.

Even if they allow on 32 bit, it will just be bad.

So, you were complaining about GW2 not having higher graphical options (which is false). It turns out some of its features don't work on older systems. When you were told this isn't a big deal (it's really not), you decided everyone who doesn't care about your complaint and disagrees with you is a blind fanboy and made a thread bashing them. Uh, congratulations, I guess? Now we know you don't like it when people disagree with you.

So basically, your weak system couldn't do the job, and you decided tyo come on here and tell people they were wrong and it can't run high, when it can .

I think a lot of people complained about a lack of character select, that was fixed, I don't think anyone defended not having one, only a foolish person would.
