This game can be quite fun for comp drivers new to the genre.

This game is, simply put, a time filler. A game to spend a few good hours just for fun , and then to move on to a more serious driving game.
Be not mistaken : the time you'll spend with this game will be well if you don't expect too much from it.

In this game ( only single player campaign reviewed) you will drive various VW models in locations around the world. While driving in Texas you can look around an see oil derricks, when you will be driving across the European continent you will not able to tell England from France and so on by the looks of the scenery. The graphics that depicts the surrounding area is Ok most of the time, and graphics in general is Ok plus. In old machines like I have (G force 5200) the frame rate was excellent in 800X600 and high settings. The cars look pretty good actually.

Game play wise, you will driving the same routes with a change of direction or another change. You will earn money by your winnings and be able to buy various car parts to improve your car, and unlock more powerful machines.
Since I played all the about 30 courses of the game, I can say it is very easy - and it doesn't matter if you upgraded you car. You'll get in 1st or 2nd place without to much offer, and there's also an auto balancing system that can be a real pain when you are in the lead, since no matter how good you drive, the other 3 comp cars are closing in on you.
And, even though you have a lot of options of improving your car, the only improvement that will matter is of the engine system. Spend your money on the brakes, axles an so forth, and you'll feel absolutely no difference.
The game physics are sufficient for a non sim game. When you will hit objects it will seem believable enough, but hitting other cars (in one word - an accident) is just not real. Flipping from accidents is pretty rare. If you hit a car, most of the time you will not succeed in removing it from the road, and if you do well, the computer will use the "Rescue" option very fast.

The damage model is also ridiculous, since after major bumpings your car will get very low damages.

The sound is , well, almost none existent. Except of the motor noises (all the cars sound the same), there are only 2 long electro music tracks. The tracks are good, but it is tiresome after a while.

There are several game mods, most of them are ordinary tracks, but there are also "Legal race" where you are not allowed to hit pedestrians while you are driving in the city from point A to B in a limited amount of time, a "Cross country" race , in which there are almost no rules, just get to the checkpoint before your opponents, and a drifting race that is another soft spot, since its nothing like the one played in the NFS games.

So, if you want to spend s few good hours with a game that is not buggy and is more arcady than anything else , give this one a try.
