I want the first GRID that felt like actual racing with much better driving mechanics.

I will make it simple. It feels like driving on ice when you drive anything other than an old American muscle car or a hatch which means you will never want to drive a fast car in the game. You will detest even if you are given a car that you do not have in your vehicle inventory. Counter steering in really fast cars works like crap. No sense of speed or vehicle weight like the original GRID had. The original GRID was awesome for its handling dynamics and how you could sort of 'feel' the car as ironical as that sounds.

There're no vehicle upgrades in World Series Racing a.k.a Career Mode. Online racing feels like Destruction Derby. Be prepared to get annoyed. Need for Speed probably does it better. I have never been disappointed in a Codemasters game. I have the F1 2012 and I know these are two completely different types of games.

I am seriously considering trading this game after just owning it for a week. I'll try upgrades on the vehicles I own in Online Racing few more times. If it doesn't make things right, then I will trade it.

Oh and did I tell you how the Online Racing is buggy? Hopefully they are working on an update but your rival cars bounce in mid air and are rarely running on the road. Mostly hovering in front of you and teleporting from one place to another. No it's not lag.
