A great stealth game.

The game is basicly the same as Hitman 2, nothing has changed. But that dosen´t mean that the game is bad, even through it would have been great to see some changes. For example, some missions are from the first Hitman game. It might seem like a cheap move (and it is), but those missions does have some twists that wasen´t found in the first game, which makes them good. When you enter a mission, you have a target which needs to be killed. You can do this by either using stealth, or gunning through the level. Stealth is the hardest way. If you choose the stealth way, you will find many routes, and ways of completing the missions, which gives replay value. For example, in the first level, your goal is to get out of the place you are in, and it´s about to be invaded by a SWAT team. Will you shoot your way through the SWAT team, or will you put the first man you see, to sleep, take his clothes, and walk past the SWAT guys, heading for your car, and escape?Everytime you complete a level, you get a rank, which is based on how well you do. If you want the best rank (Silent Assassin), you must not be seen, you must only kill the target(s), and the bodys must not be found. It´s hard and it will require many restarts. Everytime you get Silent Assassin, you get a new weapon. If 47 get´s killed, you really feel that he dies, cause when his health is at zero, the game enters slow motion, and after some secoands, he dies, which is a neat feature. There are few problems with the game through. The game does have it´s flaws through. The game is too easy on Normal mode. 47 starts with a slicened Handgun, which can kill enemys quitely, and it only take 1 or 2 shots to kill them. 47 can also take many shots in this mode, so you can easily shoot your way through the levels. The middle mode Expert, is just perfect. You can´t shoot as much as on Normal, so stealth is a better way. You also have very few saves duing levels, so make them count. On the other hand, the hardest mode in the game Professional is too unforgiving. You die pretty quickly, cause their aim, and power get´s incressed, and you can´t save during a level. So Expert is the way to go. Another problem is that the game really is a rehash of Hitman 2, which is from 2002. Every gameplay element, every visual, even the same AI problems returns, while it was or forgiving back in 2002, now it isen´t.
The graphics is as i just said, the same as in HItman 2, but it the graphics are still great, and impressive. The frame-rate get´s a bit joggy sometimes, but still, it´s great.
The sound is great. While the sound effects are taken from Hitman 2, everything else is orginal. There´s good voice acting, and it´s great to hear 47, and Diane speak. The music is once again composed by Jesper Kyd, which again, does a really great job. The music is darker then in Hitman 2, which from me is a big plus.
If you choose to shoot your way through the game, you can complete it in less then 10 hours, but if you choose to be stealthy, it can take 20 hours (or more) But there is good replay value, with the open ended missions, and the brilliant ranking system.
Overall Hitman: Contracts is a great game, It´s just that many might call the game a expansion pack, since the game is amost the same as Hitman 2. But still, any stealth fan should buy this.
