inFamous is simple, flashy, and a whole lot of fun.

+2.0 inFamous is a sandbox game, and I personally love sandbox games. Empire City has much to explore, and traveling is great (even if it is all by foot). The environment is destructible, and using your powers on it can entertain anyone for hours.
+2.0 One of the things I loved about inFamous is how flashy it was. Shooting lightning makes you, as a gamer, feel powerful... and I have never felt that before like this. This game is just worth that feeling of being Cole, and being powerful- whether for good or for evil.
+2.0 There are many RPG-like elements, such as getting XP that you can later use to upgrade your powers and make yourself even more powerful. This makes it feel great to people of both genres, and I'm sure even if you didn't like action-adventure or RPG, you would still like inFamous.
+2.0 The graphics, I must say, are possibly some of the best I've played on the PlayStation 3. Even if they aren't actually the best texture-wise and all that, the environments totally work with everything, and you'll find yourself immersed in this world they call Empire City.
+1.0 The story isn't all that great, but the events that come with it are. You'll always find yourself doing something new, missions don't ever get repetitive.
+1.0 Cutscenes are innovative, and I think you'll enjoy the look of them even if you don't read graphic novels. It tells the story quite well.
+2.0 I haven't actually talked about the city yet, I have talked about the nonlinear gameplay and the graphics, but not the city itself. Your actions, as the superhero or villain that you will become, affect how the city looks and changes your environment, and that in itself I found to be a great addition.
inFamous is far from perfect, however. The thing that really does it for this game is that you will get bored eventually, and that "eventually" is a bit sooner than other games.
-1.0 If you get sick of using Cole's superpowers and the flashy shooting that he does, you've pretty much outgrown the game, because that's pretty much what there is in this game.
-1.0 There really isn't too much to do in Empire City as a sandbox. I mean, the buildings are mostly the same (wrecked, gray, etc.) and wandering may get a bit tedious for some players after a while.
-1.0 inFamous is pretty darn glitchy in parts. This has annoyed me immensely, but I've lived through it, and if you can too, I'm sure that you will realize the full greatness of this game.
Final Verdict: 9.0
At times, I thought I was having the most fun I had ever had on a gaming system. That is really saying something, and this game is worth it just for those moments in the game that I guarantee you will experience. However, you will find yourself getting "bored" sometimes (like in all games), and so you may quit every now and then to switch to a new game because inFamous has much of the same gameplay for the entire game (except for when you are doing different missions- they are very diverse).
