Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories User Review
A good prequal to the original game but the whole time I was playing I couldn't help but feel that it was all for naught

- Difficulty:
- Just Right
- Time Spent:
- 20 to 40 Hours
- The Bottom Line:
- "Solid"
I mean anyone who's played the original knows exactly what I'm talking about. Its kind of hard to get into a game when you know no matter what, how the story REALLY ends for your character. Besides this, it plays a lot like Vice City...about a guy who ends up building his own criminal empire by buying property. The difference here is that good ole' Vic initially wants no part of being a criminal and he's a much likable character than Tommy Verchetti was. Victor seemed like a legitamitely good guy surrounded by bad situations/people where Tommy started off as a criminal but was looking to establish his own network in Vice City. As with LCS, this game plays as a "Vice City lite"
My Breakdown:
What's Good:
- Lives up to GTA standard
- Fun game play
- Same great GTA humor
- Ties up a few loose ends left over from GTA Vice City
- Same great 80s nostalgia
What's Not-So-Good:
- The side of the city Vic starts out on.
What's Bad:
- Knowing the protagonists' fates already kind of ruins the game's story and prevented me from being able to connect with it or the characters.
In all, despite the story spoilers the game is solid and fun to play. It doesn't really do anything new to move the series forward but it up holds the current standards that have been previously set.
