I don't get all the hype

User Rating: 7 | Grand Theft Auto V PS3

I've never been into GTA that much, and in this review we'll go over why I haven't.

Story: Apparently it's about the a bunch of jokesters who want to rob banks as getting back at the government. You have a few quirky characters, such as Micheal an ageing Millionare, Trevor a meth addicted psycho killer who will do anything for money, and Franklin a hard but mellow gangster from the hood of Los Santos. It's a pretty dynamic duo. The game story is said to be pretty short compared to others but I wouldn't know. The game is 40 hours long probably.

Gameplay, here's what I don't get about GTA. It's gameplay seems like it wants to do everything but it masters nearly nothing. The ground combat as usual sucks, you move so sluggishly, you have to tap in order to run. The jumping is bad even if it's not a key element it's bad thought they did add in some free running if that helps. Even if the game is called Grand theft auto I still think there is less chaos than in previous games. Not that I cared about how much chaos you could cause for no reason and not like it was anymore fun than those previous games. But still I think it's less chaotic. Clearly there has been too much emphasis on realism on these games as if you had the balls to go through traffic. You would do so with any consequence, but the traffic is annoying. There are stop and go lights every second.

However unlike before the the driving is actually enjoyable. The handling for each automobile is pretty good.

As an added bonus you can switch in between characters, which ads enjoyment to the game and feels rewarding.

When I played the Multiplayer awhile back it was pretty bear bones, now I heard it's better.

Graphics, The graphics are very clean and realistic. They look very beautiful even on last gen hardware such as the PS3 and Xbox 360. Every character is detailed and the lighting is phenomenal. All the cars are super shiney and groovy.

Sound, you'll get a whole bunch of tunes. The voice actors aren't so shabby either saying witty things.

In conclusion, I just can't get into the GTA series as much as other people can. But if you like games without much reward, gangsta stuff, murdering people for no reason (with poor controls) go for it.
