GTA V - Best Game of Current-Gen?

User Rating: 9 | Grand Theft Auto V X360

After many many hours played, and countless virtual beings slayed, i have decided to voice my own opinion. I have played through the story-line, gone through countless side missions and rampages, had some ridiculous funny moments when switching to our friendly(maybe not so friendly) neighborhood psychopath Trevor and rage moments when desperately trying to gain a fragment of connection to GTA Online. Despite of the issues with the GTA Online aspect, the game itself had moments where i almost cried at the sheer brutality and beauty mixed together, it was magical. Anyway, at first I had thoughts of not even buying the game, as the next gen consoles were about to come out shortly after the release and i will most likely leave my beloved Xbox 360 to collect dust while I destroy a skyscraper or get countless kill-streaks on my PS4. However, after hearing everyone rave about this, i had to get it. I played through the introduction, where it slaps you right into a bank heist. You meet our first main character Franklin along with his critically acclaimed friend Lamar. You find what out what Franklin does for a living, with Lamar at his side, which sets him up with meeting the retired criminal and next in our line-up of main characters, Micheal. One thing that really got me with this game was how well they had each character come into the story and how you can pretty much see the ginger bread trail of how these three character meet. Anyway, later down the line you finally meet Trevor, well at least Franklin does. If we remember back to the introduction, Micheal and Trevor worked together before, to my belief they were best friend. However during the bank heist in the beginning, Micheal gets shot by the FIB and is presumed dead by Trevor. However, this was just a scapegoat used by Micheal to get out of the crime business. So once these two get back together you can only imagine how that little reunion was. To get to the point, the game has an immense story line which actually emotionally involves the player. To avoid spoilers i will not say which particular parts these are, but to those who have played the game all the way through, you know exactly what i am talking about. Now that GTA Online is fixed i can say that even with the rough start, the wait was worth it and i feel like it adds even more to the immerse story of the GTA universe. Not only that but you get to enjoy it with your fellow players. Countless hours of robbing stores, pimping out my car, preparing a heist with my friends and challenging a random player in the world. The wait was worth it. I defiantly would tell anyone who loves open world games to get this game. Not only is there compelling story but all out open world fun, when you aren't getting blown up, ran over, shot, thrown off a mountain, eaten by a mountain lion, ripped apart by a shark, ran over again, accidentally crashing a plane, killed by a cop, killed by another player then robbed, shot by the shop keeper you were robbing, killed by a jet while trying to steal a jet, killed by a tank whenever your trying to steal a tank, or having connection problems to the GTA Online servers. That last one was maybe a little under the belt, but who cares? We all deserve to cut on Rockstar a bit for this. All joking aside, this game is amazing, don't let your decision to buy a next gen console to take this game away from you, i guarantee this is not a waste of money and by the time you beat the single-player and are level 99 on GTA Online, you will find yourself saying, money well spend. I honestly don't doubt it if that happens after the introduction. There is only one reason why i am giving the game a 9 instead of a 10. The fact that GTA Online did not work at launch. However aside from that i believe this game is the epitome of current gen gaming, and possibly the best game of this generation with a stunning 1 billion dollars made in the first week of it being in stores, CHA CHING! That even beat Call of Duty, that has to show something!
