GTA V My Prediction (made in Aug 2012):Tuesday, October 22, 2013.
Real Date: Sept 17 2013 (margin of error of +35 days or +8.73%)
Considering Rockstars track record, odds are the game will still slip to October, a slip of 4 weeks almost 9 months out is considered a rounding error in this business.
Sorry, I dont. Not only will we not have the GAME this year, we wont even have the RELEASE DATE this year. They are being way to "ho-hum got all the time in the world" about it for the game to be close to done.

Thats rdiculous to say "It WILL not come out this year" You are not Rockstar you are not the CEO of Gamestop. Right now GTA V is the most anticapated game of this year. More than Halo 4, Assassins creed 3, and Black Ops II combined. The game has so much hype built for this fall that if they released it next year they would use this great hype they have built. This game is complete through and through, they have tested it and now are just marketing it. It is in the final phase of developement which is release.

^ Says it's ridiculous for Zoomer30 to say he knows it's not coming out this year since he doesn't work at Rockstar, then says he knows it's done and been tested through and through.:|
Honestly we don't know when it's coming out we don't have a second trailer,we haven't seen game play,we don't know who the main character is,and yet you guys say it's coming out next month because of a license plate in the trailer said October.I'm not saying it's not coming out this year i'm just saying you guys don't know either.

i believed it would come out in october not because of the license plate, its because october is gta's release month, usually. I was hoping for a suprise release like they did with san andreas, little to late for that though. I have givin up on 2012, but it for dam sure aint coming out in oct 2013 like the WANNA BE ALL KNOWING ZOOMER 30 thinks

It wont be out this year, just not enough time. We would know. There would be official pre-order programs in place. Target does not have PO cards yet, thats enough proof for me that the game is not close to release. Still thinking 6-12 months, and why make us wait 6 months when they can make us wait 12 months? That would be a lot more fun. Game devs love it, dont think otherwise. They dont release until their fans are ready for rabies shots.
And the logic that they have not ever released a game more than 13 months after the first trailer is false as well. They did that ONCE, with GTA IV. A trend that does not make. They also did not release the trailer for GTA IV then not release anything for 8 months. We had a lot more news with GTA IV. With GTA V, its hard to even know if the game is for this gen or next gen (the more I look at the screeshots it either is next gen or pre-rendered and we are a LOOOONG way from release)
Assuming its current gen, they will need to tell a releae date pretty soon, if its next gen, dont expect anything till March.

Funny looking back and seeing all the people who thought this game was a slam dunk for 2012. Oh well.... I must say, i am getting sick of being right all the time. Read the sig, the sad sad truth is there.

Its hard to ignore the turth. Much easier to believe that something good is going to happen. Having followed this industry for so long, I've developed a healthy skepticism. I mean, they put $600 million in sales in the quarter ending March 2013, and then the very next investor call they take it back out. Its almost like they are just trying to minimize the damage of a long development cycle by lying about the release target.
Solid dates are more firm, a Spring target is just a guess to placate gamers and investors.
