The best GTA game in the series but it feels like the genre is dried up.

The GTA series has probably one of the best gameplays ever, but the gameplay has been used up so much that it doesn't as fun as it use to be. It's still fun because it's a free roaming game like the other GTA games, but it doesn't have what GTA3 did in the past. This game does add improvements that make it more of a simulation like being able to customize your own character. You can make him stronger, get him haircuts, dress him as you like, and much more things. It feels like The Sims. One of the bad things about this game is the fact that it's more simulated now. Making him stronger is good but the downside to it, is that you have to continue to excercise the character to keep him like that, which can be annoying if all you want to do is play around in the game. One of the better things in this game is that you can swim now which eliminates the fear of driving in the water, which would kill you instantly is the previous games. Theres also a two player option which is done pretty well but it has it's own flaws. The graphics of this game is better than it's predecessors but compared to other games today, they aren't really that good. The voice acting in the game is excellent but the sound effects are the same and feel pretty dated. The game just feels the same with better looks and a different setting. This is just like an expansion pack. The game itself is pretty long which could add up to over 20 hours of gameplay. It can be played over and over again but if you played the previous GTA games, you won't play it as much as you did like in the previous GTA games, unless all you want to do is run over everyone and destroy everything in your path. This a great game with alot of improvements from the previous games. Overall this is a game you should get for the PS2, and one the fans will enjoy. This is definately one of the best games of 2004.
