A trip back to good ole' Liberty City! This game ties a few loose ends to GTA III's story with a decent GTA experience.

User Rating: 8.5 | Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories (Greatest Hits) PSP
Liberty City Stories doesn't do anything special but its a fun game to play never the less. You're basically back in GTA III's verison of Liberty City with a few changes to the map and addition of new vehicles to steal such as motorcycles. The story acts as a prequal to GTA III where you play as Tony Cipriani (the mafia fat guy who was always getting yelled at by his mother in GTA III). Tony is as about as deep of a character as Tommy Vercetti was and the story is nothing compelling...but c'mon, are any of these the reasons we all really play the GTA series. One great new feature that did stand out to me was the customizable radio station. I'm not sure if this was an intentional feature or not but with certain tools (as in software), you can have the radio play songs that are saved on your memory cards. The game still delievers the same no holds barred action and humor that its predecessors did.

My Breakdown:

What's Good:

- Graphics
- Weapons
- Being in familiar territory helps or elminates a learning curve
- Humor
- Owning people to your own sound track (Customizable radio station)

What's Not-So-Good:

- The story could have been slightly better
- Nothing dramatically new about the game play

What's Bad:

- Donald Love. Seriously, why the hell was he so essentric in this? He's nothing like the shady business man he is in GTA III.

In all, it doesn't make as loud of a "BOOM" as its console counterparts but it lives up to the GTA standard. GTA lite if you will. I would only recommend this game for fans since a good portion of it references GTA III and may give new comers the wrong impression about the series.
