It would be cool for the gamers out there that are really good with their car brands and names to try and figure out the real life car from which GTA developers got thier ideas and cues from.

For example:

Cavacalade = Escalade(Oviously)
Huntley, Huntley Sport = Range Rover
Cognoscenti = Maybach
Voodoo = Impala
Turismo = Ferrari

I know there are plenty more but I dont remember all the GTA names. It would be cool to make a master list for all the names. May not interest many but maybe some car fans out there.

Nahh bust the Banshee's hood and you'll see what looks like a Viper engine.... actually it looks more like a GT40's but the cars externally have no resemblance.

--F.I.B. Buffalo - Dodge Charger
--Police Vehicles - Ford Crown Victoria 97 and up, and the Chevy Impala 2002 and up... I'm pretty sure.
--Sultan - Lexsus IS800 (think that's the name) or a bad Lancer Evo.
--Sentinel - BMW 3-Series
--Patriot & Noose Patriot - Hummer H2
--Feltzer - Mercedez SL65 or McLaren Mercedes
--Dukes - Challenger (I think)
--Comet - Porche 911 Turbo
--PMP 600 - Chrystler 300

I could start naming more but none are coming to mind, and I know a lot more that show up by real names, like the Galant, the luxury Benz and BMW 750i, the Licoln Towncar, ect. ect.

Sultan is supposed to be a Subaru Legacy B4.
Fegiro is a weird mixture of a challenger and a Skyline 2000GT
new fegiro looks like a galant
coquette looks loke a vette with a NSX front end(sort of)
Stallion is a GTO with a sattilite rear(AND TOTALLY AWESOME!)
saber GT is some kind of a buick _______(i think the chevy equivilant was the chevelle)
Saber is a Grand National/Monte Carlo
Ruiner is a Camero with a 300Z front end
Dukes is some weird kind of charger(and also completely awesome!)
Blista Compact is a CRX
Uranus is a Bizzaro 5.0 that's FWD(and extremely prone to spinouts???)
Intruder is a Nissan ________/Infinity M Class
Dilettante is a prius
Washington is a ford 500/crown victoria/lincoln
Infernus is a lambrhoghini Mercilago LP640 with a Pagani Zonda rear bumper and exaust
Peyote is a weird kind of thunderbird with a caddiliac aftertaste
maybelle is an old lincoln
DF8-90 is a weird mix of 180sx, S14, SVX, and legacy tail lights
Super GT was a Maserati mixed with Ashton Martin and dissapointment(I thought it was going to be a street legal Japanese Super GT Race car. sad user is sad)
FIB car is a new charger
Turismo is a Ferrari F430 mixed with the Montgomery Hawker from Burnout paradice?
There's also some weird kind of station wagon that was carried over srom SA, looks like a 4 door R32 Skyline of it was a 4 door and a station wagon. think it starts with a C.

dukes is a 67 g.t.o. ! i gotta go play to tell you what the camero and the olds 442 is !

Most of these cars are based on real cars, but altered slightly/mixed with another cars features to avoid licensing issues while still giving us something that feels familiar.

Cognoscenti is a Maybach 62.
Coquette = Chevrolet Corvette C5 with different headlights.
Banshee = Dodge Viper
Turismo = Ferrari F430 with different taillights.
Comet = Porsche 911 (not sure it's based on a Turbo, it's probably just a Carrera S or something)
Infernus = Lamborghini Murcielago with Pagani Zonda exhaust.
Sultan = Debatable, apparently. Usually Rockstar names the car something to where we can get a hint as to what they were thinking, thus I assumed Subaru Impreza from *SU*ltan and *SU*baru. I imagine it's really more of a generalization between that and an evo/legacy/whatever else you guys come up with
Blista = Honda CRX
Cavalcade = Cadillac Escalade. The FXT is based on the EXT Escalade variant.
Dilettante = Toyota Prius
PMP 600 = Chrysler 300
Patriot = Hummer H2
Rebla = I haven't seen anyone guess at this yet. I am going with BMW X3/X5. I think it looks quite similar.
Sentinel = BMW 3 series, most likely an M3 from the trim pieces.
Super GT = Aston Martin DB9 (could be wrong about that model, but it IS an Aston.)
Feltzer = Mercedes SL500/550, possibly the AMG model SL55. I doubt it to be an SL65. I have no reason other than personal belief.
Landstalker = Toyota Landcruiser
Vigero = looks like about a 68 Chevy Camaro.
Sabre GT = I've seen debates about this before and I think we had come to the conclusion that it was an Oldsmobile Cutlass 442, but I do not know for sure that that's what it is.
Primo = looks like a Buick Riviera or something.
Contender = has a Chevy-esque front end, but is heavily modified, so I assume it's an amalgamation of pickup trucks.

I can't find any other cars at the moment, and I think I've done quite a few, so I'll let off for a bit.

I seem to be the only one to think the Infernus looks a lot like the SSC Ultimate Aero (currently the fastest production car on the market).
