Aggressive driving propels this driver to the front of the pack.
@Zcrimson07 "i love how everyone says GT is a sim because it's handling is more realistic than Forza's but pay to attention to the fact that everything else in the game is less realistic. I mean come on you're gonna bounce off walls and say that's more realistic? " So as a driver I would focus my driving skills off the track and focus on hitting / smashing the car to pieces rather than driving the car nice and clean? I love how people finds the smallest detail to nitpick on just because GT5 is the best console simulation to date.
Justin i have got all gold trophies for the licences XD I think this game is great. im guessing its because ive never played gran turismo before. If i had played the others would that make this game not so great?
The best simulator on consoles to date, and that's all I car about. The engines, not the looks. I like real simulation, not how the car looks.
That's not fast driving, gspot is killin me with this poor driving. You're supposed to be passing the bugatti where they cut off the video. And anyone who thinks the game is lacking is just butthurt because they haven't played it or can't do the license tests or challenges and get gold. This game is great and much more user friendly than anything on pc.

hehe like i watchin (i dont lay) need for speed this aint simulation this game is arcade and like a sux simulation very BORN !!! Get GTR2 Get REAL and wait new GTR coming in 2011.
I love how they have standard cars instead of just having the top notch cars ... good job on that part GT5
Good review, though I think the scores for GT5 are trending about 1 - 1.5 (On a scale of 10) pts high out of 'respect' for the series.
When I saw the grafics of this game (and compaired mentally to the previous version), I had to ask someone to pick up my jaw.
8.0 is too low, i keep hearing people Forza 3 did aim so high, but at least its good at what it set out to be. Forza 3 has a terrible laggy online and limited to 8 players, thats a major fault just for start, not only that you are driving pretty much always the same type of car. GT5 may have the crappy Standart cars, but thats its only sin, its not enough to justify the 8.0 when Forza 3, a much lesser game in general, got away with a 9.5
Unimpressed. Game looks rather low-key....no 'Wow!' factor to incite to buy. @Edot0 I agree...boring!
Tsep, I agree with some of what you're saying. I do use the cockpit view though. I agree with 4 and 3 the most however. Good points.
This is a perfect example as to why I don't live and die by game reviews. 1. He complimented the AI system in GT5. IGN bashed it. I personally find it perfect. Cars will fight for position but wont ram you either. 2. He complains about the cockpit view in standard cars... I don't know anyone who even uses the cockpit view. 99% of hard core racers use the street level view. That really shouldn't have even been mentioned. 3. He mentions some of the cars don't look crisp. Ok.... out of 1000 cars he found 5 or 10 that don't look good. That's still many more than Forza offers 4. The most surprising complaint was the ability to win early with higher powered cars. 1st of all, that has always been the case with GT games. This guy must have not played the Forza series either because you can do the same thing in Forza too. Buy a car and tune it up to be better than those your racing. Nothing new. 5. Online mode deficiencies: I currently agree with the reviewer on this issue. That said, the developers have already announced an update to resolve that issue.
Well, luckily I didn't buy GT5 for the damage model. Personally, I'd be happy if they'd just incorporate the mechanical damage system so that smacking into a wall at high speed has real consequences (ie. you're out of the race).
Wow did they really need 6 six years to produce this? They game looks great, as long you are not racing. The tracks have the quallity of ps2 or even ps1. They cars well they dont look better then the cars in grid or need for speed.
