- The Bottom Line:
- "Disappointing"
What happened Polyphony, what in the name of god happened?
I'll tell you what happened.
6 years of lazy devs that just couldn't bring it together, that's what.
Too many days on the track and not enough on the code is what it looks like to me.
Am I being unfare. Not at all. Not at all.
This game was probably the bigest dissapointment I've had this gen.
They shoud've just released prologue and be done with it as it seems like they taken a step back with the 5th installment.
I'll go into detail of why after 30 or so hours of my life I'll never get back, I decided that this iteration of the Gran Turismo franchise was utter crap.
First off, it takes up so much space on the HDD only for load times to be in the vicinity of forever, pop-ins, weird graphical glitches, sub HD resolutions on many textures, especially the shadows, cluttered interface, crummy looking visuals, I don't care what anyone says, their crap, the trees are awful for example. The AI is absolutely atrocious and provided me with no challenge whatsoever. Repetitous gameplay. And the 3d? Well it has to be one of the worse implementations I've seen. It gives you all these parralax options and all this other BS that you can't configure ingame, so you gotta keep going back to the menu and this takes a bit of time, only to make it worse and stuff. The 3d is awful. If you get some of it to look good, other parts look bad etc. Instead of just setting it up like every other 3d game I've played, whereas the options are minimul and it looks great, here their are too many confusing options and it still looks crap.
I am not impressed with this game at all and I can't reccomend it to anyone. It's boring, it's broken and it's still not finished.
The music sucks so bad, even for a Gran Turismo game, it's just plain annoying.
The sound effects in my honest opinion are just not up to the standard i'd expect from Gran Turismo.
All in all, it's crap.

Great driving simulator that stays true to its roots with a slew of new game modes, but leaves something to be desired.

Doing a flamboyant and stylish lap around the Toscana circuit, using a Peugeot 206 Rally Car. As always all driving aids are turned off except for ABS which is set to 1. Using a Logitech Force GT steering wheel which is on simulation settings.Posted May 1, 2011

This is MY opinion of which games are great this is not a fact-sheet :-) Im also well aware that some of the games on my list have seen sequels released but remember sometimes the first game was the most unique.Posted Oct 10, 2010
