Gran Turismo has always been the top driving sim with each game that came out. The Physics, graphics, and variety is always unmatched. GT5 is at it again. Sensational graphics unlike no other and really detailed as ever. In this department they really set the standard not just for the genre but for all games period. When you see the realism of the premium car interiors it really feels like being in the car. I've never felt so close driving a Nissan GTR around Nurburgring in my life. Physics and handling are top notch as usual. Leaps and bounds better than any console based game and better than most of the computer based racing sims. The graphics and physics are the best pair in this game which always gets me addicted to come back to playing this game. Lots of cool tracks to drive as well and they recently added Spa in Belgium which was a huge plus for me. The DLC that came out is awesome and I suggest purchasing, also there are many giveway cars in the seasonal events like that sick Red Bull X. But this game is not perfect in anyway. I feel that Gran Turismo has followed a formula that they have consistently followed since it first came out for PS1. I think they need to change up some things especially in terms of the racing aspect. While they have done well to add more cars on the grid, the CPU opponents are still lethargic, dumb and slow. They are like moving chicanes, always dodging them (especially at the start of the race) They don't do much defending, they always get in the way (in terms of lapping them) and they are just slow and offer little to no challenge. Also for the sim mode they could stand to change something there to make it more exciting. All the races have been the same year to year, maybe adding objectives would make the game more fun. Engine noises are tinny sounding once again as it was in Prologue and GT4, they really need to step up their game in that department because Forza has them beat there. The Lexus LFA in real life sound so sick but in GT5 it sounded like a blender. Overall its a fantastic game, driving alone is fun but the racing aspect is just not fun and badly needs to be redone. I feel Polyphony are just not up to taking risks and playing it safe to follow the same formula they have doing for years because they know that the quality of their game will always sell. Still I love GT5 and definitely is a must have game for all.
