Gran Turismo 5 Review

Gran Turismo 5 looks stunning when you first play it but when it comes to long loading times, it becomes a problem even with the data installed on your hard drive. The load times really need to be fixed. As well as the standard cars in this game which are just high-res shots of the Gran Turismo 4 cars. That to me seems they wanted to rush.
There are a few games modes which are called GT Mode, Arcade Mode and Course Maker. GT Mode is where you do your own career. Arcade Mode is where you choose anything and do split screen as well with friends. Course Maker is where you get to create your own track. GT Mode is definitely the highlight here.
Graphics: 8.5
The cars and the environments look so good in HD but there is a problem. The Premium cars look stunning but the standard cars are just awful. All standard cars are from Gran Turismo 4 which is stupid. The game should have all Premium cars that look good. The standard cars let this part down for sure.
Sound: 7.0
This is typical in all Gran Turismo games is that all cars sound like a leaf blower or a vacuum. Polyphony need to improve on this and get car sounds that are realistic and have more grunt in them. Some of the american muscle cars that even sound like they have muscle. It is sad. Even the soundtrack is awful. Enough said.
Gameplay: 7.5
The gameplay is the same usual Gran Turismo we know and the physics engine in this game is really good. But there is hardly no damage to cars at all even if you crash into a wall at 200km/h.
The online multiplayer lobbies really need to be updated and more easier to use. This is another letdown.
Lasting Appeal: 8.0
Gran Turismo 5 is great in some areas but needs to improve significantly on other areas to makes this game the best it can be. I still think it is the best driving simulator out there.
