Worth the wait? Absolutely. Perfect? Should have been.

I'll give this a 10 just based on the GORGEOUS premium cars, the overall selection of cars both standard and premium, the cart racing, the Nascar, the special events, the great weather/smoke/fox/lighting effects. Just the sheer amount of content and of course the driving mechanics make it very difficult to be anything but a 10 from a user standpoint. There is so much they did right that it was worth the wait.

However it really isn't "perfect", as some of the "professional" reviewers noted. AI is still predictable and unexciting in the way they follow the driving line. You can still play bumper cars with no repercussions (like in every past GT game). Standard cars have no cockpit view, and even on the premium cars there are more than a few occasions where the shadows look absolutely horrendous with jaggies. While the 5th installment of Gran Turismo was definitely worth the wait, you can't help but wonder why it took so long and some of these glaring flaws were not polished out.
