Best racing game for PS1!
In the simulation mode you can start your racing career. You can have your own collection of cars and you can modify them. You can even change the rims in the new rim shop. When you start the game you have enough credits to buy a used car. Once you buy a car you can enter some beginner events. Later on in the game some races will require a specific license for you to enter. You can get a license by completing a series of tests that teach you different driving skills. There are plenty of different races in the simulation mode, some require a specific car like a front wheel drive or a rear wheel drive etc. You will earn credits when you win races, you can use these credits to buy new cars or upgrade your cars. For some races you will be rewarded new cars and they will be delivered to your garage. There are so many cars in this game including normal street cars, rally cars, and race cars. Some really cool cars are the Suzuki Escudo, which has something like 900 horsepower and the Renault Espace, which is the fastest minivan.
In the arcade mode you can create a quick race by choosing a car and a race track. There is also a 2 player split screen mode where you can race your friends. For a PS1 game the graphics look great. The sound effects of the cars are good and there is a licensed sound track that fits the game nicely. If you love cars and you're looking for a good old-school racing game, you will love this!
