Gradius III has a lot of elements that come into play. The game is short but it has great replay. It involves leveling up and customizing your arsenal. It has bosses for each stage. It has different difficulty settings. It has all the basic elements to get you interested.

The game is a side-scrolling action space fighter with leveling capabilities. At the beginning of the game, you choose what type of weapons you want and what progression you want as you level up. There are a couple types of weapons, like missles, floating turrets, and shielding. Throughout the game, enemies will drop items to help you level up. As you do, you become more powerful and capable to take out the many enemies that surround you.

It is short yet satisfying. I recommend it.
