Highly addictive, enjoyable, probably the best in series, and definetly worth purchasing,
Gothic 2: Night of the Raven offers a completely new world for exploration and adventure and completely re-balances the whole game , including gameplay itself , which re-balance was especially focused on increasing the overall game difficulty. Players which are experiencing Gothic for the first time will maybe find this to be very annoying , because the Night of the Raven , indeed made the game much harder.
Plot focuses on the newly discovered world of Jharkendar , which is discovered by the Water Mages , with the little help of the Nameless Hero (Player) . Upon arrival to Jharkendar , hero soon begins to solve the misteries of the Ancient civilization which previously occupied the region , and the whereabouts of the missing people from the Khorinis which are somehow linked to the bandits and their own selfish plans . Some of the characters from Gothic 1 will also appear , including Saturas and the other Water Mages , and the ore baron back from the colony in the Valley of Mines , named Raven , which is now the leader of the bandits. Yours is to discover what is he up to , and stop him by any means necessary from invoking the wrath of the Adanos , one of the three Gods , God of Balance.
Combat system in Gothic 2: Night of the Raven remains the same , but monsters and NPC's are made slightly stronger and powerfull. Learning points are much harder to get and even harder to spend , and the leveling is made quite harder in comparison to original Gothic 2. Special plants and items number is also greatly reduced , which will really make you fight for your survival , and give the best you have to offer as an experienced RPG gamer.
Well , that's it , I highly recommend buying and playing this game , as it has all the role-playing elements gamer can wish for , which we can only hope to see in the newer, modern RPG titles.
