Expecting a fresh take on the classic GoldenEye 007? Well, don't.

As a person who played the 1997 classic GoldenEye 007, I admit I was hoping GoldenEye Reloaded would be a fresh take on the original. I could not have been more wrong or disappointed. Had the game been named something other than GoldenEye, I probably wouldn't have wasted my time or money on this iteration as nothing since the original has been anything but a disappointment. Though the mechanics are sound, the game itself is lackluster and boring. I couldn't get into the character or the storyline - reminded me of the CoD genre, which I do play, but know what to expect - mindless shooting, shooting, and more shooting. I expect more from 007. Adding to the frustration was the final mission. While the rest of the game was quite easy, this mission was ridiculously difficult in comparison. Why? Very reminiscent of the final mission in Killzone 2, which was also ridiculous in comparison to the rest of the game. In all, not what I had hoped or expected. Fail.
