A memorable arcade hack n slash/beat em up game.

I loved playing this game at the arcades. What made it stand out from other arcade style beat em up games is because this game has a certain style and a lot of imagination. The game is set in a medieval/fantasy world and the players can choose to play as either a sword wielding barbarian,a little elf guy who uses a pitchfork,a blonde haired female Centaur who carries a stick weapon with thick ends to thump enemies with,or a big, muscular guy named Goah who uses an axe, pounds enemies with his giant fists and he also carries the dwarf named Gilius Thunderhead on his back.

The game is fairly strict with how much health your characters have.If a character is hit by just one enemy attack, they will lose at least 1/3 of their health, and up to 2/3's of their health can be lost from powerful attacks by some of the bosses. The gameplay feels very smooth and it feels playable and natural.

I like how your characters can ride those giant grasshopper things and breathe fire at enemies or ride the giant scorpions and sting enemies.

Your characters can eat food to restore their health and they can use magic to kill/greatly damage the enemies on the screen(with the exception of Trix, who's magic creates trees with apples for your character to eat,so they can regain some of their health). But your characters can only use magic a limited number of times.

So this game does try to encourage a lot of teamwork. The characters can also team attack enemies to inflict a lot of damage on enemies.

The bosses are memorable for me because there's something about them that made them seem psychotic(such as the crazy, red haired woman who came running at your characters and hit them with powerful dropkicks and she could get your characters in headlocks and she would tap her wrist braclets together to make an intimidating sound.Another boss is an ogre who was huge and before you fought him,a tent would collapse on him and when he removed it you knew you were in for a tough battle.

The game also has machines that can shoot a limited projectiles and there's places you can fall to your death.

The graphics were very good and detailed for their time.Keep in mind this game was released when the SEGA GENESIS and SNES were very popular and this game looks much better than most games that were released on those consoles. The game has environments with beautiful waterfalls and forest paths and villages to travel through.I like how the enemies wear those bright colored masks.

I spent a lot of money playing this game at the arcades, and it was fun to play this game with friends at the arcade and sometimes strangers would come and join in the game and you all would try to help eachother progress through the game.It was a very fun arcade experience.
