Simplistic but charming. The King of Monsters/Rampage of recent times.
This guilty pleasure really shines through when you play multiplayer. Four-way battles can be quite chaotic and fun. The game took me back to the Genesis/SNES day playing King of the Monsters. Good times there but not exactly immersive, deep gameplay.
For the most part, this is a button masher's dream come true but there are some moves that are somewhat of a secret. Once you find them out, you have a strategic advantage. The environmental effects and destruction is fun. Again, it feels like Rampage and King of the Monsters.
I can see why the game got bad reviews. There are definitely signs of lazy development. Just when the game shows promise, it falls short. A little more planning and this could have been a real diamond in the rough. Whatever the case may be, this is a good bargain bin pick-up. A fun party game, really...
