An excellent game lacking in only one factor - the diversity of monsters.

User Rating: 8 | God Eater Burst PSP
Despite the title "God Eater" , what your really killing here is simply a cluster of savage cells which bonds together to form an entity known as the "Aragami" for their resemblance to mythological beings found in the Eastern culture.

Generally speaking , this is an excellent game.
The artwork scheme reminds one greatly of the Persona series , a unique and distinct feel which is hard to describe.
Yet , the gameplay itself is similar to Monster Hunter , fundamentally-wise.
It does not bear the challenge nor the diversity of monsters as found in Monster Hunter , but being a bit easier with a stronger RPG element is in itself a killing point.
For those who finds themselves having difficulties in coping with Monster Hunter and is too , a fan of Action RPGs like Phantasy Star Portable , this is an excellent choice.

As for the storyline , it's good enough for an Action RPG , though slightly random and unbalanced at times , it is far better than that of similar works like Monster Hunter and Lord of Arcana.

For the music itself , I daresay it does hype up the battle scenarios without really causing much of a headache even if it does loop within battles unlike most other Action games.
Or rather , their actually quite pleasent to the ears.

Moving back to the gameplay settings , the game allows the player to be more flexible in real-time combat , allowing them to form small-scale strategies as they change their weapons from a sword to a gun , as well as absorbing powers from monsters via "Devouring" , not to mention cooperating with teammates , human and AI alike to take down their foes.

However , the sole problem of the game is the monster diversity and quest diversity.
Quests after quests of killing missions which features monsters which look and behave similarly despite their elemental differences can prove tiring over time.
Still , this is indeed a game to include into your PSP collection.
