The action and gore are just as good as it was in the original but it seem like there were way more puzzles this time...

or maybe the puzzles were more difficult which caused them to stand out. This made me drop the score on this slightly since I'm not an advocate for puzzles in action games. Seriously, its the most annoying thing ever. If I want to "think" then I'll buy a puzzle game, but if I want to mindlessly hack things into tiny little pieces then I'll buy a hardcore action game...and expect to get nothing more than hours of mindless hacking. GOW 2 disappointed me from that perspective. HOWEVER, the majority of the game is still brutally awesome and with an even better story. Not much has changed for me in my disappointment in the final boss battle though (seriously, the Sisters of Fate were more of challenge).

My Breakdown:

What's Good:

- Graphics...not just for its time. This game came out around the time PS3 did and I still found them to comparible with many of the PS3 launch titles.

- Story (a hell of a plot twist)

- Boss battles are still epic

- The hacking, slashing, nashing, and bitting of course

What's Not-So-Good:

- The puzzles can become really annoying and interfere with the fun in fighting foes. It kind of screws with the replay value for me.

- The secondary weapons this time around are still a bit useless (for the exception of the "fleece"...that really comes in handy)

What's Bad:

- Still playing through another awesome GOW game, only to be rewarded with a mediocre final boss battle

In all, I don't want anyone to get the wrong idea...this is a GREAT game and addition to the GOW franchise. Its just personally, difficult puzzles leave a bad taste in my mouth and I expect at least a slightly difficult final boss after enduring hours of game play.
