A great sequel that improves on everything the first game nailed (and didn't)

Gameplay
No news here. God of War's gameplay closely mirrors the first GoW. Same fun combat system (few mor combos, weapons and magic attacks but nothing worth being mentioned), same puzzles but more bosses. One of my main compaints from the first game (lack of bosses or lameness of the few that were there) has apparently been heard and this time the game presents challanging battles at pretty regualr intervals. Not all bosses are gigantic and mean and once again the team seems to have run out of steam, but all in all the game's pace is high throughout and the experience is tight. Worth mentioning are also the scene riding Pegasus, a short, but spectacular interlude - a real touch of class.
My one here is the end game boss that, besides being very predictable, has not been developed in terms of patters and potential for a challenging final battle. It's short, uninspired and fairly easy

Graphics
Really good, nothing else to add. Characters, animations, backgrounds, everything look majestic and the sense of scale is awesome. In an era of PS3 and X360, this game's presentation holds really well, also thanks to an extremely inspired art direction

Sound
Great. Very appropriate and matches the visuals in terms of power and atmosphere. Couldn't be better

Value
I took me more than 15 hours to finish the game, that is pretty good for an action game. The game's hard but not to a level of becoming frustrating. All in all is a solid package that excites from beginning to end and deserves the price of admission

Tilt
I really enjoyed GoW II from start to finish. Unlike the first game, where things drags towards the end, this one kept my interest high until the end and, besides the final boss, provided a constantly entertaining experience

Two thumbs up!!
