So i just completed my first playthrough and i fully upgraded the blades and the quake magic and just stuck with that weapon and magic and ignored all the others (ended up with over 20000 spare red orbs).
What weapons and magic do you find most useful?
if i do bonus play.. what other weapons or magic would you recommend upgrading for an enjoyable run (its already gonna be easy as i am probably going to play it again on normal if i decide to do another run).

Most useful?
Well...I'm no expert and have just been toying around with this thing myself, but when I play through on N or H I use mostly the Blades and Cronos's Rage and a little Typhon's Bane. Head of Euryale is crazy if you build it up so you can blast foes and the Barbarian Hammer does a ton more damage than I previously thought (yesterday I was messing with challenges, and on Challenge 7 I walked behind the stone minotaur and hit him with the hammer...without Rage even, it took way less time to kill him mashing Triangle than with any other strategy, I was amazed).
But yeah, usually Cronos's Rage. I know there is invulnerability for drawing the Typhon's Bane, but I'm not that good at timing it and usually have better luck with trying to perfectly time a roll for i-frames. Cronos's Rage is for when I'm like "WHOOPS!" and realize I'm about to get hammered by something, since it has a brief i-frames window--and it has the added bonus of locking most foes into hit stuns (maybe not block-happy ones like Satyrs) and stuff. Plus, if you build it up, it chains and has a knock-down at the end. It's nice because you're free to run around during that time, and it doesn't cost a lot.

Blades - lvl3 at least by Zeus. lvl5 if you're all about them (less than VH). For H and below, you can afford to dick around with specials and such to get 'flashy' and feel 'stylish'. I will thumb my nose at such displays (as is proper). Base Blades already have the majority of the best attributes. All it really lacks is the quick path to t3 (t2 is unlocked via lvl3). That and maybe RotT's "Inferno" (which is just a novel move that can prove effective, but almost nobody uses it).
BH - lvl1 if you know how to use RotT. lvl3 if you do not. Spam of 't,t' dominates its usage for brute force to progress. MotK here and there (safer with Cycle Cancels). Sometimes air t1.
SoD - lvl1 because only vets use this. lvl3 when you've done some challenge runs and want to go back and see what this offers in NG+ (perhaps GKTMMAX). "t1" and "PS" are great. Other moves are amusing, but not too worth noting. "Fun".
BoO - Implying you have a choice in NG. NG+, get it to lvl3 if you want to horse around. It doesn't matter much beyond more PEW PEW PEW lasers. DR is great, but about everything else is crap.
TB - lvl1 suffices, but lvl2 offers an instant shatter option for statues *rare use* and lvl3 offers a good deal more exploits, It's more a vet tool with regards to MAX use, but even newer players can make Titan Storm do great things for them when teamed with EH's Gorgon Rage in some key fights. Best spell for one-on-one damage dealing efficiency on VH.
CR - Good from the start, Great at MAX. Simple to use, some i-frames, holds foes still, etc. Best VH damage to a group choice for efficiency. That's if you want to use direct damage (Ex: Against bosses and other petrification immune targets)
EH - Good at lvl1, Great at lvl2 and Excellent at lvl3. Great for taking non-boss 'tough fights' down a few notches (Translator of Lahekesis, Pantheon of Atropos, Endurance Run, etc.). Like TB, lots of i-frame options in firing types along with the free 'draw' case. More for VH than lesser settings, but it works fine on those as well.
AQ - Amazing for settings with Power % of 100 or higher. VH is not such a setting and as such it is less efficient at doing what CR does while being sloppier. Casuals love it as the 'panic button' spell (mostly because they haven't mastered tricking using the i-frames of other cases). It can cause knockback collisions which can make up for this, but it is sloppy about it and those can actually get the Translator killed (be careful). Not advised for VH beyond lvl1. Never lvl2. lvl3 if you just can't resist wasting MP on VH.
