bringing back some great times...
- The game benefits users with older systems, since its a real port to the PS3, the game runs in any PS3.
- Both AA and AF filters, smooth framerate and trophy support are all welcome.
- All the extra content found in the originals games is also included in the package.
The Bad:
- It looks better than the original for sure but people expecting for a real HD remake may be disappointed, it is still the same game running in the same engine.
- The God Of War 1 bonus video suffer from very low resolution.
Additional Information:
- The God Of War 2 bonus video can be found directly in the PS3 video menu, differently from the ones of the first game.
- Depending on the screen you are using the game screen won't adapt correctly to fullscreen mode, the problem can be solved by simply activating the "fullscreen" options in both games option menu.
The Time Of The Oath:
Gow: Collection brings back two of the greatest PS2 exclusives ever, but this time in a special edition on the PS3.
Like i said before both games are looking better than the original version, the AA filter guarantees zero jagged edges, the AF filter and the upgrade to 720p resolution gives a better texture definition and naturally the power of the PS3 locks the framerate to 60 fps.
but do well to remember also that we are still talking about the same games, Gow Collection is a remastered edition and not a truly remake of the games in HD.
So the game runs in the original engine that naturally show its ages.
Aside from the graphics there nothing really different from the original version, both games just like always are pure fun standing are one of the best hack n slash franchises out there.
So the time of the Oath:
buying: 40 bucks for two games is pretty cheap but yet Gow Collection only worth for those who didn't played the originals games back in the PS2.
Besides that its only worth for real fans who still intend to play through a lot of times and get all the challenges and trophies.
but yet it can be the hell of a rental, trust me on that.
