The good:superb graphics and sound. fantastic gameplay with tons of challenge. lots to check out after beating the game. interesting puzzles.
The bad:framerate drops.not many bosses. some very frustrating puzzles.
When playing the demo about2-3 years ago, and reading the mostly praised reviews, i already expected god of war to be a great PS2 title, but knowing how many years its been, its better then how i saw it 2-3 years ago.
The story it tells is all about getting revenge on the god of war, who tricked kratos into killing his own family, and as you get further more pieces come together to this plot, and its greatly told. talk about a movie experience.
The gameplay starts out pretty easy in the begining but in the middle amps up the difficulty, which is great for the newcomers to get the learning curve. The thing is it can feel alittle short, a good 2 days and you could beat it, but it offers a great challenge.
but the word "challenge" can sometimes be pushed over the edge. Like near the end of the game ,theres a wall that has spikes that rotate and at this part youll will die so many times. try to resist the feeling of throwing the controller through your television.
The graphics are some of the best youll see on the PS2 and sometimes youll mistake from pre renderd video even better now that they been remasterd in HD. sound is also great, from all the screaming and sword clashing, to the cutscenes with greatly done voice acting.
If you dont have enough money for God of war III then you must get this for Your PS3, this is indeed, one of the best PS3 games and shouldnt be missed

Kratos is now the god of war, but to kratos, faith and glory leads to nowhere,and ends up being betrayed by the gods. Now Kratos needs to go back in time before he was betrayed by zeus and finish him. The story itself is great but the ending was kinda confusing, and already tells you about a sequel.(cough God of war 3 )
The gameplay is more focused on boss fights and combat, then puzzles and back tracking, though when ever you come across one, it can be a real head scratcher, and if it werent for IGNs guide (yeah i must of fell back on it 100 times in both gow and gow2)i still wouldnt have beaten it.
Graphics are remasterd and look good in HD,but suffers from framerate drops and screen tearing. but its a dang good looking good with its lighting effects,light bloom,and detailed enviroments. This is one great looking game and the sound make it even realer.
This is another game your gonna need in your collection, and yeah its gory violent, and explict, but if you dont get turhed off by that, you better make some room for a new game, and fill it with another god of war game.
So your getting 2...count em...2 incredible games on one blu ray disc, and thats 5 days to spend on this truly gorgeous game that you must buy...that is...unless you already have these on PS2
