If you haven't played the previous releases then this is the one to buy. If you have well you just may want to rent it.

Sony has released the HD versions of God of War and God of War 2 on the PS3 and while they looked awesome on the PS2 the PS3 versions look even better. The textures are very smooth and the colors are very bright making this not only a epic master piece but a beautiful one. The game displays in 720p HD and is running at a locked in 60fps. There does seem to be some cutscenes that come out grainy and washed out but for the most part they are few and far between.

Nothing has changed from the format here, you still play as the Spartan bad ass Kratos spinning out combos with the Blades of Chaos. The controls handle with the same ease as they did before, allowing you to flow combos from one enemy to another.The impressive sound track is still intact and is as ambitious and exciting as the main plot of the games.

The games both utilize the trophy support of the PS3, having 36 trophies for God of War and 35 for God of War 2. So yes you trophy hunters out there you can get 2, yes I said 2, Platinum trophies.

So bottom line is if you haven't played the original realeases then pick this up today and if you have and you are a big fan of the series, like me, definitely give this game another go.
