As described. Amazing, but I finished in less than 5 hours as a casual gamer.

User Rating: 8.5 | God of War: Chains of Olympus PSP
The Good: Amazing graphics and sound. Great camera and controls. Same satisfying action as the console games.

The Bad: Story mode lasts about 5 hours.

Review: Welp, I heard this game was only about 8 hours long, but I figured that'd be long enough. I guess I was wrong, because I just finished the game at just below 5 hours. And this is the first game I've ever finished that fast and was atually a tad dissapointed. As a casual gamer, I usually feel that any game over 15 hours feels long and dragged out to me. Of course, I played on the default difficulty, and can always go back through the harder modes, but as a casual gamer, I'm not really into doing that, I just wanted to play it for the story and experience. There are also 5 mini-game "challenges" I unlocked and I can play through now, but they're not very long or interesting.

Well, with that out the way, on to the good stuff. As you've probably heard by now, this is one of the best looking and playing PSP games out. The audio is no joke either, as the soundtrack reminds of of an MMO type game at times. Anyhoo, Kratos is back with his ruthless style and blades of chaos. The gameplay is exactly the same as it is with the PS2 games, even down to the same button choices. The controls and dodging, combos, etc work just great here too. The camera does a cinematic and superb job as you'd expect. The story here is pretty good too and kept me wanting to play more to see what would happen next.

Overall, the gameplay here is PERFECT for a PSP game, I just wish they'd have made this game a lil longer, like at least 10 hours or so. As is, it's hard to recommend a 40 dollar game that's only gonna last you 5 hours or so, if you're a casual gamer like me. Obviously, that playing time will go up greatly if you just have to beat it on God Mode and unlock everything. Otherwise, I'd wait until this becomes a greatest hits title to pick it up.
