Regarding the Protagonist

Though when GE2 was announced, I had the impression that there was going to be a new protagonist, but with the recent updates as of late, does anybody else have the feeling that the God Eater Burst and the God Eater 2 Protagonist are the same person?
Reason I ask is because both the male protagonists look extremely similar in both of their respective artwork. And the GE2 Protagonist looks considerably older, which can reflect on the 3 year time skip between the games. There's also the fact that the Protagonist doesn't seem to be present in the 2nd Break manga.
And considering the fact that the Blood Unit is a special force of God Eaters, which imply the members of Blood are highly skilled God Eaters, there's a chance the protagonist could have been transferred there because of his renowned ability and skill as a God Eater.
Though this could only be speculation on my part, I really hope that they are the same person. Despite being a silent , I really got attached to the Protagonist throughout GEB, especially when he took the spotlight through out the Burst storyline. And the interaction between the protagonist and the returning characters would prove to be more meaningful than if it were a completely new protagonist. It would be a shame if they didn't take the mantle of Protagonist again.

Have you read the mangas? There is a character named Ryo that seems to fill the protagonists roll from the games. Not sure whether or not they are cannon though.

for the manga, i doubt it would be canon (protagonist character)
as i mentioned before in this topic: (read last few posts)
http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/643151-god-eater-2/63613092as Mashima Hiro is with Monster Hunter Orage(which has no real protagonist too), the manga author for GE 2nd break is probably not among the staff of God Eater/Namco Bandai at all. so the story itself is either non-canon, or an additional character(s) was created just for the heck of establishing a [player] protagonist (if the story itself was canon).
as for TC, he might possibly be the same guy, like you said. Kota and the gang are there, after all. Im more curious about the other New-Types, though. Still wondering if they'd ever appear.

not exactly. we're simply just talking about "default" character. there had been designs/artworks for the MC in GEB but still, we were able to customize our characters.
what we're simply discussing is whether the new designs/artworks for the GE2 MC is based off the designs from GEB.
either way, we will surely still get customizable characters.

I sure as hell hope not, why?
It would mean the poor GEB MC had to go through the "capcom syndrome", how else would they explain him/her needing to completely start over from scratch unless s/he lost his/her powers.
And I find it hard to believe that the canon fodders of GE 2 would somehow be far more powerful than the final boss of GEB, Ouros, Corrosive Hannibal, etc.

They do kinda make a point of more powerful aragami becoming more common as the story progresses, maybe that trend continues outside of the game. basic trash could be Vajras for all we know. lol

And didn't they already say GE 2 would have a few new Aragamis? So I don't think we'll only be fighting GEB canon fodders.

hrm, that's a pretty weird way of using the term "cannon fodder." Haven't heard it in years, but i guess it's usage has been varied over the internet... any word these days can be used however, now that i think about it
but anyway, it is true that GEB's Aragami were too easy. If they buffed them, to the point that they'd actually be becoming more of a threat (in numbers) than an annoyance... then that's cool enough. After all, Aragami are
supposed to evolve exponentially, they
should get stronger in a mere 3 years. How would it be delivered? i have no idea. but if they added new attack patterns along with the buffed up Aragami, then that's a pretty solid improvement for me.
For example, those Zygotes are nothing but floating eyeballs of annoyance. Ignored almost all the time, until the player gets bored and wants to slice something up or is required to do so as a goal of the mission. If they start becoming roaming turrets of doom, then i'd be up for that kind of challenge when messing around with any large aragami.

Huh? I thought Cannon Fodder only had one meaning.(yes, I just realized I butchered the spelling the last two posts >.>
Cannon Fodders mean boring crappy generic monsters/enemies that the game just throws at you to be killed right? A whacky comparison would be like goblins in RPG.
We know that we're going to need to start over from scratch unless the capcom syndrome is thrown in so I find it hard to believe the weak beginning Aragami can be stronger than the most deadliest of the Aragami in GEB, this is all based on storyline power though.

Considering there is a data transfer, if we do get our previous character I see no reason that the generic trash can't be the more advanced aragami.

Hey, I like all of the girls from Katawa Shoujo, I just like Lilly more than the rest.
I found a really awesome picture of Rin before but now I can't find it. : (
Oh, and what do you think of Missing Stars? I hope that can pull through, from what I read of it, it sounds awesome.

They would be starting from scratch, maybe with the Clementor set that Alissa gives you. (assuming we are the same character.)
Hope it's handled with as much care as katawa shoujo, people can be pretty touchy about mental disorders. (I'm just glad my autism is pretty minor in comparison to most cases. lol)
