Glover Is An Alright Platform Game But It Is Missing The Spice That Makes A Game Great.

This has to win the award for the strangest game I've ever played. If you told me a year ago that I would be playing a game whose main charactor was a glove I would laugh at you.

A fun and original story. One day a great wizard in the magical crystal kingdom is working on a spell. As he moves his beaker he trips and falls into a potion that turns him to stone. Both of his enchanted gloves fall off. One falls in a pot of pure evil. When the evil glove emerges from the pot he scatters the wizard's magic crystals into different parts of the kingdom to prevent him from coming back to life. Untouched by evil, the other glove, the good glove, flys out the window. He sees the scattering of the crystals and sets out to collect them all in order to restore the great wizard. You assume the role of Glover, the good glove.

Gameplay : The basic idea of the game is to get magic crystals (diguised as balls) out of the different parts of the kingdom. It may not sound like an enjoyable game but it is. There are a bunch of worlds to search for the crystal in; each complete with its own boss. The only problem I have is there is no great variety in the gameplay, but the wide variety of levels provides hours of fun.

Graphics : The graphics on glover are alright! The pop-ups are terrible and there's too much fog for my taste. Glover and the crysals are fine. Everything else has seems and looks like cardboard cut-outs. Lots of colors everywhere and detailed levels, but the characters(including Glover) all look plain and boring. for example one character that comes to mind is a purple ball with eyes which you can ride, is just as I said...nothing more then an ugly ball like creature. the thing that makes that so bad is that a good amount of the enemys are balls. Like I said before though, the levels all look different from each other. Sound : The sound is great. The evil cackle of the evil glove is great as with the wide variety of sounds that glover makes. The popping of your inflatable ball is very realistic. I also love the great slapping sound when you smack you rubber ball.

As with most platform games there isn't much of a replay value. I guess after you beat glover you just put it away to pull out again when you're really bored.

Glover is a bizzare but fun 3D platform game. Although it isn't as good as DK64 or Super Mario64 this is a buy for any fan of platform games and it is at least one to rent for everyone else.
