The definitive title in movie franchised game.

User Rating: 9 | Ghostbusters: The Video Game X360
It's finally proven, bustin' does make me feel good! I'm not kidding this game is freakin' awesome! As a child of the 80's Ghostbusters was big. It had toys, shirts and a cartoon series. Its theme song topped charts when it came out. The movie is rated as one of the best comedy/sci-fi movie of all time. When they announced that Terminal Reality is going to make Ghostbusters: The Video Game I was delighted knowing that my dream will finally come true. With the story written by the original creators it is like adding butter on bread. Alright enough with the talk, let's get down to business.

Gameplay
This game is an action adventure game but in the Ghostbusters sense. In the beginning you're only given your regular proton pack with the basic proton stream. As you progress you'll get additional modes to your proton pack for different types of ghosts. All these modes are upgradable not only in terms of performance but with visuals as well meaning your proton pack will look different. Gameplay involves weakening a ghost and then trap or destroy them with a mixture of basic puzzle solving thrown in. Most of the time, you will be accompanied by fellow Ghostbusters which is controlled by AI. Overall, the AI is acceptable with only slight annoyance because they go down easily especially on higher difficulty settings. Speaking of which, you don't immediately die if your health goes down but instead you'll be immobilized until your colleague rescues you and vise versa. If all the Ghostbusters go down the game ends. There is no hud in the game, everything is shown on the proton pack like your health and state of your gun like overheating. The game is split by chapters and each chapter will take an average gamer about 45 minutes to 1 hour to complete meaning the game is about 8 to 10 hours long depending on your skill and difficulty level.

Visuals
Visuals look great with all the original actors providing likeness to the game. The cutscenes consist of real time rendering and prerendered CGI with both looking great. Effects are true to the movies from the look of the proton stream to the tiniest details on the proton packs coupled with almost fully destructible environments and you got yourself a technical feast even though the graphics isn't the best in the world. Levels are detailed and diverse except two chapters where you'll be in the same place but at different parts. Framerate stutters sometimes and there are screen tears here and there but they are by no means game breaking or will affect you at all.

Audio
Sound effects are good with some of them taken straight from the movies. The theme song is in but you'll hardly hear the entire song. Voice acting is solid but I can't help but feel that Bill Murray doesn't sound like the Peter Venkman from the movies but more towards Peter Venkman from the cartoon series.

Overall
If you're a gamer get this game that's all I can say.
