An Interesting and compelling storyline that gets muddied by the stale gameplay, Not a Brillant Game, but competent

User Rating: 6.3 | Koukaku Kidoutai: Stand Alone Complex -Karyuudo no Ryouiki- PSP
Introduction:
Ghost in the Shell:Stand Alone Complex is based on a popular anime series in japan. In consists of 4 main characters from the anime series, Batou,Saito and the like, as well as the love or hate Tachikoma spider-tanks.

Gameplay:
The Gameplay initially is sluggish and confusing, with clunky controls and no clear explanation of the controls, so reading the manual before starting the game is a given.
Once you're confortable with your controller setup, it's time to kick some Government &*^*^*^!
As you've guessed this game comes with the same engrossing and interesting storyline as the series, the Character models are true to the series and are fairly well detailed.

Enemy AI in this Game is laughable, but that didn't stop you playing games like Double Dragon and the like! Enemies either stand in one spot shooting you, making for easy pot shots or weave around uncontrollably shooting air, until they reload, however due to the psp's clumsy controls, fighting is still a challenge and interesting.

The load times are frequent and long, but they have lengthy cutscenes, and interesting shoot outs which balanced things out for me!

The Games environment, is boxy, but has alot of fresh and bright environments which makes this game easy on the eyes.

The Game has a wide variety of weapons, as well as 4 customizable Tachikomas, which are Extremely useful in dangerous situations, as you can take shelter in them and control them manually or give them orders to attack aggressively or conserve ammo.

Overall i am pleased with this game, and feel that it was made in the wrong
format, it should have rather have been in 3rd person shotter
rather than a clunky fps for the psp. and they should have used anime vids instead of 'Brick Face' 3d character models,if you have patience, this game is a pleasant experience, it's not a waste of your money, and in my opinion offers way more value for money than Coded Arms which suprisingly got a better score!
