Not 8.1 material, but decent.

I'm going to make this short and quick: this game is good for a little quick fun, which meets the criteria just about any good handheld gaming experience should offer.

The graphical presentation in this game is actually pretty nice. There seems to be more color and detail overall than the last Gex GBC title. While the previous title followed its big brother console version down to the letter, this one loosely follows its roots and strives only to offer one of the best handheld experiences available.

The sound in this game was in no way impressive and I felt the soundtrack was much better in GBC Enter the Gecko, but it still gets by, so it's not a very big deal. The enemies and level structure were a bit ridiculous, though. Instead of evil elves, we got killer penguins. In place of ghost cowboys, scorpions, and eagles, we got yellow jumping...things with weird legs (or at least that's what I think they are; I haven't a clue where they were going on that one) and a jumping invincible cactus. Enemies really weren't a big deal, so the challenge lies in the obstacles more than everything. The Christmas level was just really, really annoying. I really don't know what the hell they were thinking there.

Anyhow, aside from a few minor flaws here and there, this game is really enjoyable for the cheap thrills, but don't come in expecting more because that's really all you're going to get.
