I find myself truly baffled. I have spent more time playing Geometry Wars and loving every minute than any other Xbox 360 game I own. Now, that fact is not any way surprising except when you add that it only costs about $7(400 Microsoft Points, 1600 = $20.00) and my other games cost 8 times more. It's a good time to be a gamer, but we sure take it up the rear for huge production expenses for blockbuster games. It's like taxes: You want to live in the #1 country, pay up then. Anyways, I digress. Geometry Wars gives intense, visceral gameplay within 5 minutes of playing and you have enough lighting effects to cause epileptic seizures! Truly, these visuals are incredible on an HDTV. The sound is stellar too, with all the enemies having their own sounds when they form and when the balls form, they have this buzz like something is being lightly electricuted or something. The gameplay is excellent, utilizing the two analog sticks and the RT button. I really like the different weapon upgrades too, when you change from a machine gun to a heavy machine gun, then to a multi-bullet blaster that is really powerful because it actually makes the grid deformed when you shoot. Overall, spectacular game, one of my favorite ones ever, even if it is an arcade game.
