Easily the Best Shooter on the 360 and one of the most fun shooters on the PC.
Okay coming to Gears Of War. Its a game where you have this really really FAT guy name Marcus Fenix. Fat because he has so much armor stuffed inside him but he looks really cool, much cooler than kratos can ever think of.
But his attitude is a slight put off. Damn serious guy. I personally found Cole and DOM the best. Baird was good too though sometimes too cocky. I hated Kim and thank god i didn't have him much longer in my team.
The graphics are absolutely epic. EPIC Games have done some of the most Epic shading and filtering in this game. You don't had those stupid Anti-aliasing settings. A common good feature found in all Microsoft games. The ACT especially which has Rains coming down from the heavens after your Buggy car stops working is the BEST Mission atleast Graphically in this game.
Gameplay is ROCK SOLID. Perfectly executed controls. Not a single Complaint i have. I played this game in Hardcore mode straight up. I have only tried few missions in the Casual Mode as i found it too disgracefully easy and moreover i am good at pulling off headshots as the hardcore mode rightly says. The Cover System is AMAZING and also the blind fire is cool to watch. The Roadie run really gives you that hurried feeling and that you are really in a war and smart idea by EPIC to include motion blur which makes the graphics even more better. Anyways I did not ever dare to try the Insane mode as there is a slight problem with this game.
The missions till the last boss RAAM are very manageable even in the Insane mode. The hardcore mode was a cake (Except the pump stations). Bosses like Corpser and Brumak were absolutely predictable even on Hardcore mode. So giant but so easy. But RAAM kicks your butt really hard. It took me 29 tries to get him on Hardcore mode, but it took me just 1 try on Casual Mode lol.
Anyways, Gears Of War as hyped turned out to be really Harcore and you always feel like you are on the move and you feel like something is gonna come. Even though this game is not of a Horror genre, i would still recommend playing this in the night.
The story is pretty good. Nothing groundbreaking. Same thing, aliens aka locust attacking the city. Yeah a few stupid twists like Marcus leaving the clan to save his father who is already dead. Then he gets punishment of 40 years. After 40 years the "Talented Skillful and Intelligent" COG chief realizes that defeating the locusts is impossible without kratos.......i mean Marcus. Damn i always get confused between both the GOWs.
The music in the game is pretty good. Voice acting almost perfect.
Overall, after playing this game it only makes me angry that Gears 2 is NOT for the PC. It was really fun. But then again some will like it, some won't. But if you like some hardcore Shooting with some delicious gore blindly get THIS GAME NOW. I now have to buy than DAMN console called Xbox360 to play Gears 2. But then again i will again forward the letter i did yesterday to Microsoft again requesting them to get a PC version even if its Quarter as good as the Xbox360 version.
