Love shooting and kill? Are you skilled? Then this game is totally for you!
O.K, first off, the good things. I would like to tell you, Gears of War is one of the best looking 360 games to date. I never knew the 360 can handle all of this power without getting the red rings of death. The character models are amazing beyond belief. The environments are very well done also. But even with all the stunning visuals, there is still one thing the game is lacking. The game is not that colorful. All the environments have one single shade of Blue, or Green, or Tan, or Grey. It sort of makes the game look very bland, but the graphics, overall, make up for it's dreary look. And one thing, to see people's heads and bodies explode after getting sniped or shot is the reason I still play this game.
Graphics:
Now, I know what you all are thinking, graphics don't count in a game, what matters the most is the game play. Gears of War has a "OK" amount of game play. The reason why I said this is because most of the game is ducking behind walls and shooting. This does add a little easy yet difficult side to the game. It is somewhat good at times, but I don't know about this one. Game play wise, it's alright.
Gameplay:
Finally, the story mode. You play as Marcus Fenix as he helps his fellow COG soldiers fight against the Locust Horde. It's a pretty good story, but it's rather short. The story features intense boss battles (Even without the Brumack), and puzzling stages. The story mode is also very cinematic. With the "Resident Evil 4" like camera angle, anything that pops up (Wretches) or runs in your face (Bezerker) never fails to scare the **** out of you. And the Graphics makes the storyline even more cinematic than it already is.
Storyline:
O.K, this is where Gears of War draws the line in Multi player XBOX live shotgun fest. This is the most addicting XBOX live game ever!!! The fact that you can pick your own match to duke it out and talk **** to everyone is the bread and butter of the game. Although it has it's downfall though. Number one, there is this stupid strategy where you strafe side to side so that the person never shoots you. That strategy may be very difficult to dodge, especially when you are constantly being shot at. Number two. Just like every other game, you will have that flood of prepubescent (Small Children) players that glitch and cheat to win. I don't give a **** about being snipped, I just hate when children are cheating in the game. Glitches such as chainsawing someone and then walking away at the same time really gets on my nerves. Other than that, this is still a good game when online.
Multiplayer:
To sum it all up, Gears of War sets a whole new bar for next gen shooters. It gave a whole new way to shoot up aliens, (Unlike a certain game.) and even if Halo 3 is out, when you play Halo, and you played Gears of War before, you'll still remember the Craziness of Gears of War, and trust me!!! you will go back to it!!! And to the people who haven't played this game yet, you should buy this game now!!! really!!. O.K , that's a lot of typing...... but don't let the wonders of small children and Trash talkers get in the way....
