A blend of Escape from New York, Starship Troopers and the Unreal 3 engine make this a showstopper FPS shooter for X360.

User Rating: 9.6 | Gears of War X360
A few new twists mixed with a storyline that melds Escape from NY and Starship troopers makes this one of the best games for the X360 in 2006.

The HD details/graphics and sound were superb. I did experience, rarely, a slight random sound pause - but other than that the game is nearly flawless.

The learning curve is very smooth even if you are not into FPS shooters. The immersian factor on an LCD HDTV with 7.2/5.1 Dolby/DTS is just amazing.

I have not experienced such excellent, detailed immersive console gaming since Soul Caliber of the Dreamcast 6 years ago. The feeling you get is you are REALLY in not just a "first person shooter" but actually in a moving firefight. The only way to make this a notch better in that perspective would be no load screens and have mobs come from behind (I can smell a GOW 2 in the works with some ideas floating around).

The three difficulty settings can be changed per act and you experience different views of the game as you are given choices a'la "choose your adventure" go left or right.

Multiplayer Co-OP and PVP modes are top notch, good stuff and truly enjoyable.

With 49 unlockable items for your profile/gamertag - some of which are very funny - more of the good stuff.

IF you want to experience a deep FPS on a nextgen console and cant wait a year for Halo3 -- pick up Gears of War - you wont be dissapointed in the least.

May your shot always hit its target fellow Gear.
