    The game is fun, but I'm just curious about why they call the monsters "locusts". They look more like reptile men to me Do they ever explain what they are?

    It is never explained why they are called the Locust, but you will find out their backstory, why they are on the planet Sera, etc. but most of this is revealed in the third game, which you don't have. The triple pack only has Gears of war 1 and 2, and some DLC for 2, so to find out the whole story, you are going to have to shed another $60 or 50 for part 3.

    Some things (Like the backstory to the first game) aren't explained fully in any of the games. I think there's books or something about Gears as well, I don't really remember.
