Gears of War: Judgement: Review

User Rating: 7.5 | Gears of War: Judgment X360
Gears of War Judgement is really nothing special, actually its kind of a letdown. You play as Baird and Cole before the events of the first Gears, and while the story has some intriguing parts it still feels like a lackluster game. The gameplay has some cool improvements like jumping down from ledges or throwing a grenade without the need to wind it up. I'm mostly just giving a brief review because frankly it feels like a big dlc. The multiplayer has only three or four maps in it that you can play on, of course there are some new game modes, but playing the same game modes on only four maps is ridiculous, and theres already a season pass that will probably come with old rehashed maps. There are some new weapons and characters, as well as a new game type called overrun which can be fun if you have the right team members. If I were you I would probably rent this game, unless you are a complete, devout Gears of War fan. I myself am a fan, but I was an idiot who bought this $60 DLC essentially. I would rate it lower if it wasn't for the declassified missions, the overrun mode, funny dialogue and new game tweaks. There is a fun game in here, I'm just worried EPIC is going the route of EA and ripping of its customers.
